They took deposit booked my stall and then cancelled it and say deposit is not for booking for application process, this is very wrong morally and all my things I prepared have gone waste.Very disappointing
Helping to advocate for loose rules so foreign workers can be brought in and drive down wages for Canadian workers. BTW, why do so many of the 5 star reviews look fake...?
This show is nothing but a glorified flea market and it's getting worse every year I have lost thousands of dollars at this show due to the poor judgment, incompetence and mistakes made by the current management, things that should have never happened. My advice to anyone thinking of having a booth at this show is take the money you're going to spend and use it on anything else like Google ads or hire someone for a couple of weeks to do some good old-fashioned door knocking it's way better spent money than the show. They don't care about what you're selling all they care about is selling booths so they don't mind putting someone right next to you selling the exact same thing they've already made their money they will say anything to sell you a booth. The old management would have never let this happen. I will add more when I have time to write everything in detail.
This was my first year attending the show and I was very impressed at the entire event as a whole for all of the planning and everything that was done to make the event look amazing as well as opperate smoothly. Also was great seeing a bunch of new and different things in the industry this year!
Honestly this review is for the actual RC show which they were charging hundreds to buy a ticket. None of the panels you want to hear are available because it’s “limited”. Waste of time and definitely a waste of money when most cooks are broke as hell. It’s all so tone deaf and honestly, I won’t support anything RC does anymore. Perhaps we should have another organization looking out for us seeing how they are not.
The show itself was awesome for the purpose of what they are trying to do. However I literally wanted to go in and look at new products coming out as I work in the restaurant building industry. They asked for my business card and said that I am qualified as a distributor and therefore was competition for people who paid for a booth. They charged me $340 to get into the show for two days. The lady next to me was a designer is she only paid $100. And yeah I saw several booths with design companies. Was she not competition? I asked to speak to management and they probably told me I was a competitor to people who were paying for booths. They would not listen to my side of the story. I’m very displeased by the man running the ticket purchasing area. He had a bad attitude and quite frankly it ruined the show for me because I felt abused in the price he charged me. However I did leave there with lots of business cards for new companies with new kitchen equipment that we could potentially use on upcoming projects. And for the record I did not see one single booth with anyone even close to being what would be considered a competitor to what I do
