I have been dancing with Donna since 2018. I love the experience and training Donna provided. She is a teacher, an artist, and a mentor in many ways and I absolutely enjoyed my journey with her. If you are interested in adult ballet, I highly recommend her class. You will be able to build the techniques and gain exposure to classical ballet continuously. It's never too late to discover your passion in dancing!
I have been working with Donna for over 5 years now and even through the pandemic and my relocating away from Toronto, Donnas has really worked at maintaining the same level of teaching through online classes. I take both individual and group class and it's wonderful that I don't have to worry about travel time. I have even done my classes with her from out of country! Donna's teaching has been body changing for me - she has helped me in addressing so many of my issues/habits. Highly recommend!
Donna teaches adults using principles of adult learning and gives you consistent, precise and useful feedback. She takes you seriously regardless of your entry level.
I've been taking classes at Ballet Espressivo for a year in the first and second levels. Over that time I've seen significant improvements in my strength and posture. The lessons are very technically focused, which is important for injury prevention and has helped to provide some insight on muscular imbalances and past injuries. I hope to continue here for years to come!
Ballet is an art. Art is long and time is swift. So we must love ballet, can make our life more and more Beautiful and happy! Why I choose Ballet Espressivo? Just because Donna Greenberg is the best ballet Teacher I've ever had! She is very patient and knowledgeable, she will explain every detail of ballet for you. At the same time, she is very strict and aske us to do every movement as well as possible. I will forget all the troubles in her class and concentrate on ballet. I am so happy to meet such a good teacher!
Donna is a wonderful teacher who pays a lot of attention to each student in the class. She makes sure the posture is correct and that you do exercises the way they have to be done. In addition, she makes you feel you can do everything and you can do it at your own comfortable pace. She encourages students all the time and sees all the efforts they make.
I would NEVER return to these classes. Donna was sharp and raised her voice a lot. You are not allowed to mark the barre exercises as she demonstrates them, you have to watch. During all barre work, she demonstrates it but does not walk around the room to see how people are doing. The studio is really small byt nice. I took classes with her for a year. She embarassed at times. In terms of levels, she teaches at a much slower pace that other studios. The biggest let down is how she explains the exercises, she does not mention key elements of ballet position.There are so many other GREAT studios downtown Toronto. Many have drop in classes so you dont need to committ to the entire term.
