This place honestly can’t be beaten. It’s a true no-BS barbershop. Alex, the owner, is an amazing guy who really knows his craft. What sets him apart is the consistency and experience he brings every single time. I have very coarse, thin hair, and I’ve always struggled to get a haircut I’m happy with. Since I started coming here, I leave every time feeling confident. It always turns out exactly how I want it. Highly recommend.
I believe it was Alex who very kindly fit me into his schedule. He was very brusque, but don't let that put you off. His skill speaks for itself! Was very impressed with the fade and the trim. What was most impressive is he took into account that I don't use product or take much time styling my own hair. Weeks after it was still easy to manage and style with a quick brush. My hair has a good amount of body so it kind of has a mind of its own, but Alex was able to tame it!
In response to the comment that this is a “fake review”, I came into this barbershop yesterday and got absolutely butchered by the stylist. I had to pay $40 to have the cut fixed at a shop down the road. This is not a fake review lol. Buyer beware.
TLDR; the barber didn't listen to me at all despite multiple asks and turned me into a pineapple ? After going through multiple great reviews and pictures, I decided to give this place a shot. So far I have tried out 3 barbers in Toronto (from $60 to $40 per haircut) and all have been bad but know this when I tell you, the haircut here was the worst I have ever had. The barber who cut my hair looked like he was high. I told him in great detail about the type of haircut I wanted. He said don't worry and asked me to sit back and relax, so I removed my spectacles and sat down. This guy started out fine but 5 minutes in, he turns me around to face the wall. I asked him MULTIPLE times to face me towards the mirror so that I can give him feedback on his work, but all he did was give me a quick view of the mirror and spin me back towards the wall again. I was completely blind sided. By the time I could give any feedback and ask him to fix things, he had done his worst. His reasoning for making me face the wall you ask? He said that the "lightning" was better from that side. How is it my responsibility if the lightning (the basic amenity in a barber shop) is not proper?? Imagine getting a haircut where you don't even know what the heck the barber is doing for straight 20 minutes. I get it that it's only for $30 but that doesn't mean you'll just shear a customer's head using only trimmers and not use the scissors even once or ask for what length to give. Never coming back again and I recommend you to stay away too.
Torn to leave this review. Got the best haircut I've ever had from here last year. Second time I went the barber didn't do a good job, and this last time I've been I got the worst haircut I've ever had. Nobody was there when I got there so I came back later as I wanted to give them another chance - the cut looks somewhere between a mullet and a bowl cut. Really messy/lazy transition between sides and tops and not symnetrical at all. Off to go get a buzzcut now. Not going to come back.
I had a cut here. It’s not my go-to place but my barber was on vacation, thought I’d give Alex a try. Alex was good with the fade, but he was not very good with connecting the fade with hair on top. Bit disappointing experience.
A brilliant barber who has experience with many types of hair and always welcomes you with a smile! Absolutely recommend it if you haven’t found your barber yet or for a quick and efficient cut!
