Have been taking our 11 and 9 year old girls for about 2 years now. We really enjoy it and our girls as well as they actually ask to be out back into each 'season' (falls, winter, spring). They work on various drills, to games. The drills, game format during the 'seasons' change a bit I think as some of the coaches change but it is still very consistent. It has also given them more confidence at school in their gym class. My wife and I highly recommend considering SBA for your child.
I’ve been apart of the SBA franchise since my brother played at 8 years old. He’s now in his 30s and I loved everything about it. To the games, coaches, house league, everything is great! I enrolled my twins to have that same experience & it’s been amazing.
My daughter thoroughly enjoys SBA house league and their March break camp! The coaches are very encouraging and they push the children to their outmost potential! Thank you!
For the past almost 3 years my son has thoroughly enjoyed being apart of SBA season after season. Coaches are very welcoming and within the programming he consistently challenged. Hes pushed to grasp new skills , listen to instructions yet fun and smiles are never absent . 10/10 for small ball
Amazing coaches and great training for the kids who loves basketball… my son enjoys every session and improves a lot on his skills since he started.. highly recommended!
My daughter tried out and was offered a place on the U17 team this year. I paid the fee in full, well before the deadline- which was several thousand dollars. One week later she was diagnosed with a health condition that meant she had to leave the team. I sent the doctor note to the coach and admin and asked for part of the money back, which I think is reasonable considering she attended only one week of practice. I was told the policy is that I cannot get my money back after practices begin. Now my emails are being ignored completely. This is extremely unreasonable. She hadn’t even been assigned a uniform. I was told she is welcome to stay on the team but I can’t get my money back. She cannot stay on the team with her condition. I would be happy to receive half the fee back but to be told I cannot get any sort of refund is highway robbery! Really unhappy and considering next steps. The organization is keeping thousands of dollars due to their “policy” and not working with me for a fair resolution. I am consulting a lawyer as I do not believe this policy to be fair.
Waste of money. If your son is not top 5, he’ll only get 2 minutes (if that) of play time in games. You’ll drive far to games mainly to see your son sit on the bench because the “coach” only puts his favourite players on the court at all times. As a parent, you’ll feel like you’ve wasted your money. Whenever I share my experience about this team with others, I constantly hear that Scarborough Blues is all about the money and not focused on development. Get your child on a team that values development, fair play times, with a good coach who genuinely wants to see your child succeed. Scarborough Blues is not it.
