The lady did a great job. I really recommend her, she explains what she is doing, also she teaches you how to keep your dreads nicely even how to wash without frizzy. She has experience and she is a very nice person. You can come with no fear to bring your dead to the next level.
This deserves a zero-star rating. I rarely leave reviews, but this situation absolutely warrants it. The so-called "Auntie" is unprofessional and narcissistic. Despite not having had my locs done yet, my experience has been awful. I reached out multiple times through phone calls and text messages, and her replies took forever. When we finally arranged an appointment, it was confirmed for August 1, 2024, after discussing it on July 25, 2024. On the morning of August 1, 2024, I was inundated with text messages and calls demanding that I confirm my appointment and send an e-transfer of $84.75. The timing of her communications was disturbing—she called after 9:20 PM on July 31 and sent texts at 5 AM on August 1, which is outside of regular business hours. I had fallen asleep the night before, so I couldn’t reply until the morning. By 9:19 AM on August 1, 2024, I had just finished dealing with this disrespectful individual and wanted to ensure my account was accurate. When I confirmed I would be arriving, she insisted on the e-transfer, which I refused since I don't know her. She said this is her policy and that it's a pay-as-you-go service. I had no issue paying in person before she started, but that wasn’t acceptable to her. She couldn’t explain the risks if I were to come in, only mentioning she’s never had this problem before, which I suspect is a lie. Despite the bad taste this interaction left, I was still willing to go to the appointment. However, she replied I can't see you today, and my reply was, please refrain from contacting any further. Her response was, “Okay. Thank you so much for wasting my time. God bless.” From my experience, this "Auntie" is argumentative, lacks accountability, controlling, unprofessional, and has an inflated sense of entitlement. The negative reviews about her are accurate. I felt uneasy from the start but tried to move forward anyway because my loctician was moving out of the country. Consider this a clear WARNING and avoid this person. There are many other locticians in Toronto/GTA who offer a better experience. Spend your money elsewhere; you’re likely to have a much better experience with someone who has a better attitude.
I've known Auntie Ernestine for many years with regards to her profession as a natural hair-care specialist. She prides herself in going the extra mile to provide excellent service for her clients. As a natural hair-care specialist, she loves to see all her clients attain healthy hair. Therefore, she uses only natural products and services that promotes hair growths and healthy scalps; thus, she does not use glues, waxes nor chemicals that may cause hair damage. Auntie E. offers a unique special (1 hour) hair treatment that cleanses and removes dandruff, nourishes the scalp (to prevent dandruff), and hair to promote rapid hair growth. This 1 hour hair Power-Wash/Treatment, for me, was an experience that I won't forget any time soon. She always share her knowledge and ideas on hair care with her clients--for free. So whether doing hair Power-Wash/Treatment, dreadlocks or any of the natural hair-care service that she provides, I believe Excellent is Auntie E's Minimum Standard!
