What an amazing gem of a place! I have recently relocated from The Netherlands and was struggling to find a good, reasonably priced salon - the Living room is amazing in that a wash, cut and blow-dry all come as part of a whole ensuring you walk out with lovely, styled hair. Eve is a wonderfully kind person who was amazingly patient in talking with me and ensuring I was at ease throughout the whole process of giving me an absolutely fabulous haircut. They also do hair colours with European brands so I'll be going back for that very soon. I'd give them 7 stars if I could :-)
I would highly recommend AVOIDING this salon. We had booked them for an event and the price and services were agreed upon in advance. However, 1 week prior to the appointment, eve decided to increase the prices without informing us, for the same services, and it was only when We messaged her to confirm the time, she “updated” us. Very unprofessional and left us in a tight spot last minute
I have been seeing Eve for 20 years now for all my hair needs! She is always welcoming and I am beyond satisfied with the amazing job she does on my hair every visit! The shop itself, is renovated, beautifully appointed and offers a warm space to comfortably spend time in. I highly recommend The Living Room!
Moved to a new neighbourhood and when wandering about found them. Eve has been my go-to for six years, even though I've moved out of the neighbourhood. Friendly and warm atmosphere. Knowledgable staff.
I walked in yesterday to get a haircut and I was directed to the lady whose name is Olga. I asked Olga how much the haircut was. From what I heard she said was "twenty", I was not sure if that included tax or not. She repeated the same "twenty..." in an unintelligible way. I asked her "20 final price or what?". And what she then said was totally out of line. She said " Are you bargaining with me? This is not a market. Go to the market to bargain". I was completely shocked. First of all, what is wrong with bargaining? Second, yes, it is a market place and she is selling her services. Third, if the price is fixed, she could have said, sorry, we can only do this for the fixed price. Fourth: I have had a haircut in that same location for $20 a month ago. And the most important: I, as a Russian speaker, knew immediately that she was a Russian, because in Russian comparing someone with a market worker (which means a produce market in Russian) is a very demeaning and condescending way of sending someone to hell. I called your office today and I was told that there is no manager and everyone is self-employed. I was also told that there is an owner. I think the owner should know how Olga treated me yesterday and she should apologize for being not just rude, but for humiliating and demeaning me.
