So much fun at this awesome spot! 90 year old bowling alley in incredible condition. The lanes are 5 pin only (a game invented in Toronto!) and scoring is still done by hand (they show you how to do it). The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Food and drinks are available, although the kitchen was closed for the night, the menu looked yummy.
Fun place, but their cancellation policy is completely ridiculous and makes no sense. Even if you cancel one week in advance, you can only get a gift card, not money back, even in their low season! Makes no sense and makes me never want to return again (after I use up this gift card).
Hit up Shamrock Bowl & Restobar for some old school 5-pin bowling on a Friday evening. 8 lanes along with billiards ($2.00/game) and a foosball table. Each lane is limited to four people. Wasn’t busy with half lanes occupied. Our group of 6 rented two lanes for 90 minutes ($60.00/hr). Shoe rentals are $5.00/person. Managed to play three games; part of the charm is you have to manually calculate your own score. Also ordered drinks and typical bar food ($7.00 french fries and $17.00 pepperoni pizza).
Honestly neighbours and friends have mentioned this place opening up locally in the last few years. Now that I made it by for a kids party, it's great. Solid choice of beers and it's such a classic bowling alley. Will definitely be back. Haven't had the food yet though and I hear it's mixed reviews. Cleanliness and aesthetics are solid though. Recommend a visit
Horrible customer service. Outdated interior but honestly the owner Axel is the worst and hates women. I will never enter the building again. Anyone female should avoid as he thinks we are less than men. I would 100% not recommend Added after the owner commented: His exact comment to me as a women was “ You are not used to being told “No’.” Happy to wend the screen shot after I asked for a change by one hour and the lane empty. This man only responses to negative comments here vs good comments. That speaks 1000% to the character of the business. I would trust the negative feedback and try to adjust. Instead they say “I have done nothing wrong” attitude. This is driven my the male owner who think he is in the right. As a women I would 100- % avoid. White male dominated mind set here. Enjoy.
Came here with family the other day to give this place a try. We had an absolutely fabulous time! Very kind and welcoming staff, clean, comfortable seating and bowling space. We hadn't bowled 5-pin in decades, and it was very entertaining to play and remember how to score with pencil and pad (not automatic). You do need to be on time, lane reservations are set, and a bell is rung to signal the end of the period. Fantastic family fun!
Coolest bowling alley ever!! Everything from interior design, staff, to playlist this place is the bee’s knees. My friends and I had the best time here we shall be back lots!!
