For those who are craving a good pastel, a coxinha, and even a guaraná Antartica, a great tip is to visit Samba. And for those who want to learn more about Brazilian cuisine, this is also a great opportunity. The Samba location on Yonge is small but very welcoming, with great menu options for those who are missing Brazil and for those who want to learn more about Brazil. The snack bar has a few tables and counter space so you can enjoy the products on-site, but you can also buy and eat wherever you like. The location is close to several commercial areas, bus stops, and a few blocks from the Dasville subway station. They don't have parking, but there are some private parking lots in the area and paid parking on-site. The store is small, and because of this, it doesn't have an automatic door. The entrance for customers with wheelchairs or walkers is a bit narrow, and assistance may be needed. Additionally, they don't have a Braille menu, but the staff is ready to assist with orders. The prices are good for the area, and it's worth a visit.
The best hidden jam we stumbled upon! My boyfriend and I were just out for a walk when we decided to stop by this cute little yellow door. The owner at the front was very helpful and helping us decide our meal. We got ourselves a kibe and savoury pastel filled with meat, onion and cheese. It was absolutely delicious and piping hot and fresh. Will absolutely come back to try more items on their menu.
Wondering down Yonge Street is a joy when you wander into a great treat of a cafe. Mostly set up for takeout - which suited me just fine. I had a an amazing Savory Pastel. Highly recommend. A real gem!!
Ever since my trip to Brazil, I’ve been hooked on pastel de carne but I hadn’t been able to find a place that made it just right. So when I came across Samba, I was excited at the chance they might have them. To my surprise, not only did they offer a great selection of pastéis, but the beef and cheese one I ordered was even better than the ones I had in Brazil! I was genuinely shocked! On top of that, the staff was incredibly friendly and took the time to explain the differences between the various pastel options. Amazing food and great service. I’ll definitely be back.
I don't know why this place is so highly-rated. Their pastels are honestly a cross between an Indian samosa and a Jamaican patty (which is then mixed with different flavours within). And you're charged like $15 for a 6-inch snack. Not sure if this is how Brazilians dine, but it definitely did not meet my expectations compared to other restaurants in the Yonge-Eglinton area. They barely have any spots to sit inside!
Mmm I'm Brazilian and I have been to This Pastelaria Brasileira several times. I specially love the pastel de frango e catupiry, which means chicken and creem cheese pastel. It's delicious!
It's a tiny cozy place but the food is amazing, only exceeded by the warm and friendly staff, Livia is simply awesome! it was a wonderful surprise to have reasonably priced Brazilian street food right in my own 'hood, my go-to pastel is the classic meat & cheese, you got to try it with the vinaigrette and Brazilian soft drink Guarana, also available Zero sugar. You will be back for more!
