The associate was rude! I called because I needed a laptop screen fix. Called the first time. Didn’t exactly understand what the associate said. Called a second time and she hung up on me without giving me a chance to say anything?! Bad customer service go somewhere else!
The team at Contemporary computers is fabulous! Especially Boris who was able to cover my data off my M1 Mac after taking it to apple and three other stores before bringing it to them! I am so thankful all my work of 7 years was saved! Could not recommend more!
Not a single poor review about Contemporary Computers is deserved. Phil and his team are extraordinary. The first desktop he custom built for me was approximately 2011. It was a beauty and supported this artist who uses a huge amount of photography perfectly. In the meantime he sourced a terrific laptop for me that also support artmaking. Last week I picked up my new custom guilt desktop and I can already see it will run as smoothly and service my practice as well, as the first one. Well, no, actually better, since there are so many improvements available now. Phil and his team are excellent and I am happy that I was smart enough to place my loyalty with them. This is too long I know, but those negative reviews are annoying and totally undeserved as I said. Full stop.
Great and timely service. Techs are always trying to find creative ways to fix a device instead of simply replacing parts. True repair shop. Boris is the man, kept me updated on the progress at all times.
I cannot recommend this place enough! Since they built my computer in 2012, I have used them exclusively for all my computer needs and they have never disappointed. From the friendly receptionist, to the work, to the smiles, they have consistently gone above and beyond. 10/10, won't trust my tech to anyone else in the city.
Holy crow these folks are good! I had brought an older (but a real "workhorse") HP Pavilion laptop to IGS Systems on Danforth Ave. I knew the computer needed a new fan but I wasn't sure what else. IGS provided a truly horrible experience - after 5 weeks in the shop they STILL didn't have it fixed properly when, on Thursday June 17 I decided to go there and demand the laptop back, regardless of its state of repair. They said they had installed a new fan, new heat sink and a new 512GB SSD but that I still needed some other part they couldn't source b/c the laptop was still overheating... I said I didn't care, didn't trust them, and walked out paying nothing. I promptly called CONTEMPORARY COMPUTERS and got EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE from their receptionist/Intake person. I got a ticket #, a brief estimate of potential costs, and potential solutions/costs if the diagnosis was worse than I thought. I brought the laptop in on the same Thursday, had the tech's assessment and full cost by Friday, and picked up the computer the following Wednesday morning: new fan, new heat sink, new 512GB SSD and the laptop is as good as ever, even faster with the new drive. Price was less than I would have paid at IGS and I was in and out in 5 days - not 5 weeks and ongoing! The techs at CC showed me the damaged fan (no, not a new one...) that had been installed by IGS (and noted that IGS failed to install the fan "shroud" - no wonder the laptop still kept overheating!) as well as the slowest/lowest grade SSD they had installed. Cheap, shoddy parts and unskilled labour from IGS; awesome professional service from CC!! I'm happy to have Contemporary Computers in my neighbourhood, and will be going to them in the future!
