I had a great experience with Hum Law. Even though my situation didn’t fall directly under their services, they still took the time to speak with me, offer genuine advice, and even provided references to help me move forward. They went above and beyond when they didn’t have to, and that kind of support means a lot especially when you're feeling stuck. Their professionalism, empathy, and willingness to help really stood out. I’m truly grateful and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable and caring legal guidance.
Chris Cassidy is the organization’s “Tranformation” guy, and spouse/coordinator for Lai-King. His lack of professionalism specifically, the tone he used with me, lead me to terminate my relationship with Hum Law (Wednesday). The process has been painfully slow, updates lacking and undisciplined with deadlines - I had to press the team at every step for even the modest progress that was achieved - all now moot since they’re off the case. Chris lead me to believe Lai would be dealing with my matter. However, a much more junior lawyer was assigned - absolutely a nice person, helpful, but also not Lai. Lai was not directly engaged on this file at any time. Hum Law put a 'green' lawyer in front of a very well seasoned, senior partner in opposing counsel - this approach was not designed to maximize favourable outcomes - and jeopardized my case. Later - Chris insisted he sent me (the client) documents to sign. He did not. And then proceeded to have a completely unprofessional tone for all following communications… very, very unprofessional. Ultimately, I terminated this agreement - I have restated with a new firm. But in the meantime wasted ~$4,000 ($1,000 somehow after the file was put on hold), and increased frustration at a time when I’m balancing job loss, and an already challenging time. I could not express in more striking terms how disappointed I am in services (lack of service) received from Hum Law. Interestingly - I finally got a reply from Lai-King when I requested a refund. DONT TAKE THE RISK - GO WITH A HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, WIDELY REVIEWED SERVICE if you want to ensure quality and reliability.
When I first contacted Hum Law Firm, I was faced with a situation that was both unfamiliar and stressful. My opening call with Christopher was highly informative and engaging and my stress level went down considerably. Working with Lai-King was fantastic; she answered all of my questions with clarity, was always respectful, and her advice was exceptional. As a result of this consultation, I was able to move forward with confidence and I received the end result for which I was hoping. I recommend Hum Law Firm wholeheartedly.
