1- The items they provide is good and helpful to the family and a big help for the community. 2- They used to be very polite and welcoming staffs and volunteers not anymore, they way they count and glare, or grab and yell is not an act of kindness nor mentally accepted. 3- volunteers and workers are all over the place and each of them act like boss or bossing around others, even among themselves. For example, was booking my next appointment and the young lady helped me slowly, her colleague next to her (darker young lady) left her work and keep telling this nice lady ask her ID, or when I asked her can I pickup for my mother next week because she had surgery and not able to come, instead of the lady in front of respond, the same person responded me No in a bossy tone and rudely. Is that means my senior mother because she can't come she can not get food, no rules when look around to see based what they are so opinionated and rude, is not helpful at all. 4- Phone line doesn't work at all, I went in-person to book an appointment twice and didn't book for my mother unfortunately. 5- Once I picked a Naan because no other choice, when I get out to the table I noticed they brought a lot of hamburger buns, I requested to change my Naan to H Bun because of my son's school. Two volunteers ladies (asian and Scarf) feels like bullied me and ganged up and scared me to death for my request because of their attitude. The whole day I felt scared, emotionally- tears, and mentally drained . I didn't went for almost few weeks eventhough I need it so badly. I told my neighbor friend that she also uses this food bank, and we came together and she told me you have to fight and shout at them too, is not their money nor their food. Now I know why some people react to these staff and volunteers. Specially if someone has mental issues this type of toxic approach and behavior from them is not acceptable from a community centre and a big food bank.

I have been trying to get a hold of someone for over 3 weeks. No one ever picks up the phone, so how do I make an appointment? If I was a starving child I'd surely be dead by now. Horrible

Usually I went to pick up but recently when I went someone switch my basket for theirs and some volunteer workers were bulling me almost at the end of their shift is that the price to get free food

The front end staff are amazing, they are always willing to help. My kids enjoy going there as there’s fun activities and contest for them to enter & do while I’m “shopping”. While I would like to see more of a variety with the current state of the economy beggars can’t really be choosers. I am great full for the assist, and as long as you make an appointment and keep it you’ll get in and be able to shop.

The volunteer workers were not nice! They seem to be frustrated and they are taking it out on the people. The people take advantage of the food-taking too much. They don't follow the order of things.

I have been to this place thrice and I would really like to appreciate their work , i am a student and new to Scarborough without job , I was finding it hard yo manage my expenses.Honestly, the whole team is so kind and dedicated, they try there level best to help you out. You get the fresh produce items like milk , eggs , fruits , vegetables, bread and much more . May God Bless them all for helping the people in need.

This center is great for dealing with newcomers. It offers many benefits such as food bank, activities for children, language education, assistance for women recovering from domestic violence, assistance in finding jobs for newcomers, and more. I highly recommend it. Many thanks to Thuraya and Shaden Al-Jubahi for this wonderful work.
