Had Mark read my initial inquiry on their company website of my legal matter, he would have immediately known that I needed a litigator to handle the case. Yet, I was informed during the prepaid telephone consultation that he is not a litigator. His legal clerk, Jack, was certainly aware that I had a dispute with my neighbour and therefore the case would have to be heard before the Superior Court of Justice and not the Committee of Adjustment. Nevertheless, I was advised to send in all documents, surveys and information pertinent to the case Indeed, I was informed that they were reviewing the "detailed and very informative" documents prior to the consult even before I e-transferred the funds. Realizing that I didn't even know what Mark's hourly rate was --- I asked. When I found out the rate, I expressed doubts about proceeding with the consult. This is when Mark stepped in and sent me an e-mail that he was doing a "fulsome analysis of [my] situation and [would provide] choices going forward." Naturally, I felt an obligation to send in the money as it appeared he and his law clerk had already devoted time reviewing my file. However, during the telephone consult that I prepaid over $500 for, it became evident that Mark had not reviewed any of the documents or pictures I had sent. Instead, he spent an inordinate amount familiarizing himself with the layout of the survey---the only document he had in his possession. Towards the end of the consult, I was advised that I needed a litigator and he could not handle the case before the Superior Court of Justice. However, he could, if I so desired, draw up a legal letter for a very high fee. As an aside, Mark never called at the scheduled time and I waited 45 minutes before contacting his legal clerk to remind them of the consultation. It was such a waste of time and money! I can't help but feel that I was had.
Suboptimal quality of work. These guys (Mark , Roxanne and Samantha) are notorious for promising what they would never do. They bill for services without an agreement. Also, they deceive you by providing you with erroneous and trickery practices. Never trust this law firm with any of your funds. They are ruthless for lack of accountability and full of errors when remitting the balance of your funds. They created a lot of confusion between me and my bank and this was done with a bad motive. To make matters worse, they fail to respond to calls and email to clarify issues.I would not recommend this law firm to anyone.
Had a negative experience with them. My file was not a large file and they treated it as such (was assigned a law student). The speed of work and follow up was not satisfactory despite providing clear guidance. When I brought up issues the lawyer i contacted, he didnt even bother picking up the phone to deal with the matter. (sent the aforementioned student) When I brought up issues A,B, and C, they respond by answering for issues D, C, and A...would not recommend.
