Previous management has been taken care of, don’t let older reviews skew this hidden gem. Matt’s excellent; full of knowledge and made sure my guitar was ordered/shipped with care. Called me immediately when it showed up, I’ll be back again. Thanks guys!
Had a great experience at Tundra Music. Matt was super helpful and clearly knows his stuff when it comes to guitars — answered all my questions without any sales-y pressure. The setup on the guitar was quick, smooth, and honestly better than I expected. Everything was dialed in perfectly and ready to play right out of the shop. Good vibes all around. Would definitely come back for gear or just to chat guitars.
I was reading all the reviews good or bad before I posted my own opinion. Only thing I can 100% confirm and one consistent pattern that stood out from reading all the reviews was Matthew and his excellent and personable customer service at the Jones location. Every positive review about Matt is pretty accurate. Before going to Tundra I went to a few other music stores to repair or restring my guitar and it always takes a day or two or more even just to restring a guitar. I thought it was the norm. Until I went into Tundra and met Matt, he did it right on the spot in 15 to 20 minutes. Saved me time and another trip. Because of Matt excellent service I always go back and have never went into another music shop since. I usually end up staying over an hour just chatting and learning about musical instruments and history from Matt. He showed me guitars from $100 to $6000 and even let me tried them out. I doubt any other store would be that willing to do that especially with the more expensive guitars. What a great asset to Tundra music. I am not sure about the other location but I strongly recommend going to the Jones location and asking for Matt.
Bought a $600 mic online since it was listed as in stock. Got an email back saying it was out of stock and I would be contacted immediately with an ETA. It's been over 6 weeks and I have not heard from anyone. Have left several voicemails at all of their locations, emailed, and used their online chat. Have no idea what to do as the mic is paid for. The order was August 26th, order number 6364. EDIT: this was refunded and for those of you in the same situation as me, this is how I achieved the refund. After not being able to get ahold of anyone for days, I drove to the Toronto location and asked for the mic or a refund. They didn't have the mic and the manager said he was not authorized to give me a refund but I could call the bank and have the card refunded through them. I told him I would not leave the store until I was issued a refund through Tundra. After half an hour the manager was able to get this done by calling the owner. It was definitely a heated struggle and the most strange retail experience I've ever had. As stated in the original review, I was emailed after the initial order to say the mic was not actually in stock. That was the end of the communication until I literally knocked on the door. And the purchase price was $593.25. I don't feel that is "well below" $600. Do not believe the response, I am not exaggerating anything here. I have included a screenshot of the refund to prove the price. Changed review to 2 stars since I did end up getting my money back. Good luck everyone.
Nice cozy little store where regulars hobnobb looking for great guitars. Manager Crispin Cotton is very knowledgeable and courteous. He facilitated my on-line Strat purchase, fine tuned the action and experience was a pleasure.
Crispin gave my old acoustic the best set up it's had in over 30 years. Nice to have a shop that doesn't ship the repairs out to parts unknown for weeks. Good job on my Strat too.
I would have to say, truly exceptional team. I am in the midst of placing an order with these guys. Have done it in the past as well and what a level of service and commitment. I spoke with Renee and Crispin. Both are extremely knowledgeable individuals and are committed to making sure that you are receiving not just the products they sell but also truly exceptional service. It is this level of commitment that should be recognized. Thanks guys for making it happen for us aspiring musicians !!
