I come to Toronto at least once a year, this is the place I must visit regardless how busy my schedule it is, lady Kim is very nice, knowledgeable and always goes extra extra miles to help me find the right herbs for my health, proud of being a customer/patient of Great China Herbs Centre.
Was disappointed by my experience. Called up to ask if do Ostepath services, as that's what's advertised outside and was responded to that it was $80. When I showed up and went to the doctor, he requested that I pay $30 for the visit- this was not advertised or mentioned on the phone and when I said I just wanted the treatment- he said not osteopath either, but acupunture, he said he didn't have time to do the whole treatment. They are not transparent up front which is the reason for the 1 star.
Great China Herbs Centre is my favorite Herb Centre in Toronto… My second time to buy chrysanthamum ($6ea) and pu erh tea ($6ea) here that helps me with my digestion; fat burning for sure! Google it! I also like their 701 medicated plaster ($25) for aches and pain; very effective! Thanks to the very nice sales lady/owner… She’s wonderful with great charisma…… I’ll be back for sure!
Is this a case of price switching? I went to the store & was quoted a price of more 2.25x higher than the online price ($8 vs $3.50). Another reviewer noticed a price discrepancy 6 months ago as well, to which GCHC replied 3 months later "We apologize for the confusion around pricing - the website is currently not up to date, and we appreciate your understanding as we work through it." How is that they haven't updated their prices yet? It's not like their Walmart & have a huge inventory. And this is a big price difference. FYI This is a form of fraud and can lead to charges such as theft under $5,000 or fraud. It's also considered a deceptive marketing practice under the Competition Act in Canada.
Such kind staff. Very knowledgeable and smart. You can get herbs grinded up into powder for maximum effectiveness, just be sure to email or at least call in advance. They also have three kinds of dit da jow. Number one for bruising, number 2 for old injuries, number 3 for numbness and tingling. Great spot for kung fu practitioners. And they have a traditional Chinese medicine doctor on site. Even a cute pigeon in front. It might look closed sometimes but is actually open just yell for them or call the store. They've always given me wonderful deals which is helpful due to the fact I don't have much money, this store has aided my health and I haven't gotten sick since taking the herbs, only when I've ran out. I hope this store stays open for a very long time !
We needed some remedies and Kim was very kind and quick to help. We ordered on Thursday afternoon, and it was on mail the same day. We received on Sunday, which was very helpful. Great experience, thanks from Maria!
Absolutely one of the best places to go for raw herbs in town. If you do patent formulas they have a huge selection. She is extremely knowledgeable and friendly.
