got interlock done with Chris and only a year later the edges are falling apart. I've made multiple attempts over the last few months to get repairs done but no reply. would not recommend this company!

We hired Chris and his team (Mr. Interlock) to reset and raise interlocking in our backyard, including adding an additional concrete step to our basement walkout. We could not be happier with the job they did! The work they did looks fantastic. We were also extremely impressed with how clean they kept the job site and how meticulous Chris was with every detail. We hired Mr. Interlock to replace two sets of stairs, plus the interlocking driveway and also our elevated garden area. It was a fairly complex project because the stairs are a full story high. Chris and his team did a superb job and we are delighted with the results! Chris has an excellent eye for detail and he made some good adjustments along the way to bring additional beauty to the project. His team was hard-working and nice to work with, even during some blistering hot summer days. We would highly recommend them - excellent quality and craftsmanship at a fair price.
I want to be transparent that i've had to revise the review after working with Chris and his team. I have written over 300 google reviews and maybe only 2-3 have been bad, so take this for what it's worth. I don't go bashing small business owners on google. First, the good. They did really good hardscaping and the spoftscaping looks good as well. Now to the review. Let me start by saying I gave Chris over 4 months to address the issues and after today being the 8th time he said he would come, and he didn't show up, i'm left with this review. Next, Chris and I worked out a "handshake" deal on the house, this was my first mistake as it became clear that Chris used this to his advantage that has resulted in the following. First...he started the work almost 2 months later then agreed even though I told him I had a hard finish date. Lots of excuses about other projects running late and weather, but the reality is I should have had something more concrete, that's on me. Next, part way through the work, I realized that Chris was not doing the build the way the design was that HE provided. He sent images and rendering but the design was not as he sent. After bringing it up with him he wanted over $1300(almost 10% of the job cost) to do the agreed upon design. So yes, the design HE MADE that we agreed to was now more expensive. I did not change anything in the project scope. I asked why and he said he needed more materials. I said okay, and then looked it up...the materials needed were around $200, after mentioning that to him he then changed the reasoning to be "oh, sorry, it's labour costs". As he was 90% done with the job, I had no choice but to agree to the new cost. Upon completion he offered me $100 discount for a positive google review. At the time, I was happy with the finished product, so I agreed, I should have known there was more to come. About 2 months after he was done I noticed all the bricks were changing colours and staining. I thought this was strange...mentioned it to Chris and he said he'd come take a look. He didn't. I asked again, he gave me date to come...he no showed. I again asked for a date...he gave me another date...he no showed. Finally I asked again and he came out and said it needed to be cleaned. I said okay, he said he would come back with a powerwasher. That was 2 months ago. I started digging into it more and had two other landscapers came by who both indicated he used cheap/wrong woodchips that have bled into the stone and it's ruined. It's unlikely to be able to be washed out and the stones need to be replaced after only 4 months of being installed. I mentioned this to Chris and he said "I can fix it". I said sure....he said he would come next week, no showed, then Friday...no show... then next week Wednesday or Thursday...no show. I asked again yesterday...he said "tomorrow at lunch", he no showed today. So here we are....the reality is Chris is not honest. He delayed the work by months, he used faulty products and rather then admit it, he says he will come by more than a dozen times and never actually show. He just flat our lies. He won't message and reschedule, he just doesn't show and that's the end of the story until you ask him about it again. If you're going to work with Chris, get written dates, prices, times and guarantees on the work, because as soon as things go a bit south, he'll string you along till you've got nothing left to do but write a google review.
We hired the Mr. Interlock team to bring our backyard to life. Amir, Saad and team gave us a backyard space that exceeded our expectations & we will continue to enjoy for many years to come. They were professional and easy to work with. They listened to our ideas and had many creative thoughts to add. They came every day during the project until it was completed. They ensured everything was cleaned up at the end of each day. Amir was fantastic to communicate with. He kept us advised on status, timing, etc., from wherever he was-he even took us to the nursery to advise on and choose our plants. We highly recommend the Mr. Interlock team for their high quality work, professional effort and excellent customer service. 5 stars!
