Disappointed to share that this store is not accessible and does not comply with Ontario accessibility and human rights legislation. They refused entry to me and my service animal because they claim they have an employee (who wasn't even working at the time) has allergies. They did offer me the opportunity to stand outside in freezing weather with my service animal while they shopped for me. By shopping for me, they gave me one option and didn't disclose the price before ringing it up. 100 percent not accessible, very discriminatory.
Absolutely love this place. We’ve been coming here for 10years. They source directly from farmers so the food is always fresh. They only have in season products so you know it will be really good. A common misconception is the price will be higher vs a Loblaws. That couldn’t be more far fetched. Their prices are the same and in many cases found it to be cheaper. I’d strongly encourage anyone to go here, shop local. Prices are same and the produce is so much better. Thank you raise the root!
Our daughter, who lives close to Raise The Root first introduced us to this gem a few years ago. I always buy L' Ancetre cheeses there along with our produce, frequently when we travel from Oakville to visit with our daughter's family in TO. The staff are very pleasant and friendly and go out of their way to make one feel welcome and provide the best products that one is searching for; always with a smile. You make a difference; thanks!
Great selection of fresh produce and other organic products that eclipse the big grocery stores down the street, the main difference between shopping at Raise the Root and the big box stores down the street is the selection, quality and freshness of the produce and products that often come from local vendors and farmers. Raise the Root is also a more personable and communal experience that feels more fulfilling when shopping local. The staff at Raise the Root accentuate a positively pleasant experience. Raise the Root also encourages shoppers to take and leave reusable grocery bags, removing the need to have to pay for grocery bags when you forget one at home and saving costs overall. Raise the Root proudly displays the savings you will gain by shopping there and is a great neighborhood staple.
Amazing store, great selection of produce and other items. They have good sales and a bargain section in the back with deals on produce that’s closer to going bad (but still good).
If you're looking for a great market owned by great humans who are just, you know, great.. then this is the place for you. Excellent selection, friendly staff, super everything. Just the best local market you could ask for. Enjoy!
