I had a wonderful, positive experience with Dr. Natalie during my IUD process. At my initial appointment, she was immediately warm, attentive, and thorough in making sure I was a safe candidate for the IUD. She also explained the pain-management options they offer which was incredible and truly essential for women and it made me feel genuinely understood and cared for. When it came time for the insertion, Dr. Natalie made the entire procedure seamless and nearly painless. She walked me through every step and checked in with me often. I felt completely safe and comfortable throughout. I’m so grateful that everyone at SaferSix is able to turn an intimidating procedure into something that feels easy, safe, and reassuring for women!

I had a great experience with Dr. Natalie. She is super nice, very professional, and took the time to explain everything to me in detail, which made me feel comfortable and informed. I really appreciate her care and attention. Definitely recommend this place!

Terrible experience with the sensitive male nurse who failed to provide compassionate care. I ended up walking out because it was very clear early on that he wouldn't be open to hearing about my existing pain and concerning symptoms. Dismissive and incompetent. If you want an environment where the goal is to see staff who are overly self involved, go here. If you're looking for real help for regarding a cis-woman's health issue and to be taken seriously/advocated for, go somewhere else.

I have had near traumatic medical experiences at so many clinics and I've never felt more welcomed and comfortable in a medical environment than I have here!

Less than ideal location (downtown) but the service was great from the really sweet receptionist to the pretty concise and knowledgeable healthcare representative who gave me my second MPox vaccine (he didn’t really introduce himself, so I’m not sure what his title was). My only negative comment (and perhaps this is due to ministry restrictions…) is that they do not accept uninsured folks, which makes it inaccessible to many. Given the poor communication from Toronto Health, I definitely suggest coming here if you meet the eligibility for your MPox, or any other walk-in service! TL;DR: Pros: Clean, accepting, friendly. Cons: location, inaccessible to uninsured.

**Update: My second procedure here I had an extremely different experience than my first. As I said, the first few times I was more impressed than I've ever been with how comfortable I was made to feel. When I went back for an IUD replacement, however, I had one of the worst experiences I've had. I'm not writing this to be critical, but I do feel I should say something for future reference. The first time the doctor could not find my IUD strings and suggested it may be embedded, so I was asked to return and have a different doctor try, which I was fine with. Because it's a quite painful procedure in my experience, I went in the second day thinking I would just ask for an ultrasound rather than attempting another removal first, which had also been posed to me as an option. We decided to go ahead and attempt another removal, but because of this I admittedly had only taken one Advil instead of the two I had taken the previous time. Painful is not even the word I would use. The removal itself was so bad I cried out, and then cried on the table. I wanted to tell the doctor to stop and try again another day, but couldn't quite get the words out, and it happened anyway. I think in his mind he was doing me a courtesy by getting the removal over and done with, but I felt pretty terrible overall after leaving. Again, I'm not saying this to blame anyone, more to highlight how painful and delicate of a procedure this can be, and how important ongoing check-ins are. I realize it was also on me to come more prepared and speak up sooner, but also, this affected me quite a lot the day it happened. Lying there afterwards I declined to go ahead with the new insertion that day, and so I had to return a third time to finish the procedure, which was done by a different person. This went more smoothly. The scraping device used to locate the string made me unbelievably nauseous, but I powered through. We don't have enough painkillers for this procedure in general, not just at this clinic. I was glad to have it done. Just wanted to leave my thoughts here in case they end up helping anyone. Initial post: Such a great experience. All procedures were explained to me beforehand and during which made me extremely comfortable. There was also no unnecessary pain caused.
