cant believe theres never handy cap parking here... my mother cant walk that far...... shame!
Stepping into Mimico Go Station is like a step back in time over 100 years ago. Stuck in a time warp. Not easily accessible for seniors, baby strollers or anyone disabled. Tiny station with only stairs. Very old and depressing underground tunnel. No signs saying which stairway is for which train. No vending machines. No nothing. They need to demolish this place and build a new Go Station at Park Lawn and Lake Shore on the former Mr. Christie lands as soon as possible
There is half as much parking as is necessary. There is only one access to the platform, at the far end, which is not accessible under the AODA. This is a poorly constructed station and an example of the poor city-planning blight on Toronto.Update: The street is now a no parking zone, so now Mimico has even less available parking. These people should be ashamed. Never go to Mimico.
Not enough parking space available. And what is even worst there is no underground pass so if you go from Lake Shore you have to go around. So even people living near by the track at Cavell Ave and in near area have to walk like 2km just to get to the station.
I will say this, the staff is great. Everything else is horrible. It is so small and the parking is a joke. During rush hour its almost impossible not to run someone over as people are everywhere. Since there are no pedestrian walkways or sidewalks, as soon as people exit its chaos and very unsafe- ESPECIALLY if you have kids. There is no elevator for wheelchairs or strollers and the walk to the entrance is a long one, followed by lots of stairs to get to the platforms. With the way this neighbourhood is growing GO transit really needs to look at updating or moving this GO location.
