I had an amazing experience working with Youssef at the Volvo dealership. From the moment I walked in, he was friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely focused on helping me find the right car and not just making a sale. He took the time to answer all my questions, explain every feature, and made the whole process smooth and stress-free. You can tell he really cares about his customers and loves what he does. If you’re looking for a new Volvo or just great customer service, I highly recommend asking for him.
Do NOT bring your car to be serviced here. It is without a doubt the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. You’d expect with a reputable company like Volvo and the price tag that comes along with it, that they would have a clue with how to address customer concerns with care and in any type of urgency. But not here. 11 days ago I brought my car into for a recall on the infotainment system. Everything went fine. Two days later as I was driving the AC stopped working out of nowhere. It was 36° (with a humidex of 46°) and I had my senior 65lb Samoyed with me. I called Volvo immediately and the earliest they could even look at my car was in 8 days. They gave me no other alternative besides dropping it off the following day and they would try to “get to it” but made no promises. That day came and went, the following day and then the following day. I woke up on the fourth day of them having my car with ZERO update. No “sorry we couldn’t get to it today but we’ll try tomorrow”. Nothing. I use my car every day for work and they also had zero Loaner cars to offer me so I had to rent a car. Finally, on that fourth day I called them to find out what was going on and beg that they just run a diagnostic test to at least find out the problem. He assured me he’d do his best. To my relief they called me later that day and had discovered that the AC compressor failed and two parts had to be ordered, thankfully covered under warranty. He advised me that it would take 2-4 days to arrive and that he would contact me when they did and get me in for servicing. I picked my car up and tolerated the no AC, thankfully on a few cooler days. Now here we are, on the fourth day, I had to call Volvo for an update… again. Only to find out the parts arrived the previous day. No phone call. No text message. Nothing. Once we began chatting about when I could come in, he offered me an appointment 8 days away - it’s currently 37° (humidex of 45°) and I need my car all weekend for work. And because I called after his sales manager went home they have absolutely zero solution for me. No loaner car, no rental car, and no appointment because the service manager is the only one who can try to get me an earlier appointment. So here I am again - with no solution. To pay this amount of money for my car, for my service appointments and for everything that comes with owning a luxury car… it is so disappointing to have zero support or customer service. Cars break down all the time, and if you don’t have an “emergency solution” for those situations, what are you even doing? This isn’t the first problem I’ve had with this dealership during my servicing appointments either - and when I bought the car in the first place the experience was less than ideal. Once this is fixed I will never service my car here again, and I certainly won’t be buying my next Volvo from here and I advise you do the same.
Sajid and Francis are the best! They’ve been looking after me for over a decade and I’m at great ease knowing that my vehicle is always in good hands. Thank you gentlemen! They’re professional, knowledgeable - they give great advice and direction. Always considerate and very accommodating.
Update - I’ve went back in a few months ago for a different service. I had someone else help me during the service and it was better. My recent visit to the service center was disappointingly unpleasant, primarily due to my interaction with service consultant Wong. From the moment I approached him, it was evident that he had little interest in genuinely listening to or understanding my concerns. His demeanor was noticeably irritated and annoyed, creating an unwelcoming atmosphere. I had a straightforward request: a quick visual inspection of my vehicle to determine whether it actually required servicing. However, instead of addressing this simple need, Wong seemed more interested in discussing irrelevant matters. This unnecessary tangent prevented him from conducting the brief examination I had requested. His reluctance to perform this basic check was both frustrating and puzzling. Despite his apparent disinterest in my actual concern, Wong was remarkably quick to insist on booking a service appointment. He seemed more focused on scheduling a service than addressing my immediate query. This eagerness to book an appointment, contrasted with his unwillingness to perform a quick inspection, left me reconsidering my choice of service center for future vehicle maintenance needs.
Volvo Toronto ultimately fixed the issue after escalation. They did not however refund any portion of the inspection fees I had to pay from the other dealership. Original post - I purchased a certified SUV from Volvo Toronto off lease 2 months ago and after the recent heavy rain, noticed that water was coming into the vehicle. I took it to another Volvo dealership for inspection and they confirmed that the seals around the sunroof had to be replaced. The vehicle is 4 years old. Toronto Volvo told the other dealership that they wouldn't cover it and after reaching out to Sahib Josan (sales agent), Tamara Yuldasheva (financial services manager) and Daisy Gonzalez (service coordinator), the same was confirmed. They even tried to get me to bring the car in to charge me another inspection fee for something that they never intended to cover. I would never purchase another vehicle from them. Their certified inspections clearly are not done thoroughly. The pre-owned sales manager refused to cover the diagnostic charge incurred and refused to inspect the electrical components that are likely damaged from the water coming in. You cannot see water on a black carpet but you can see it on a rubber mat.
Very friendly customer service. Great place to chill and wait for your car serviced as well. No unnecessary sales push. Deanza Cox is the best salesman. I can’t recommend him enough. Many thanks to him. He was very helpful and patient with our purchase, walked through every detail with us carefully, and gave us the best options, test driving etc.
For those looking to purchase a car for their small business, this is a terrific option as a dealership willing to do all the paperwork for you when there are limited options based on the limited supply of vehicles. Shorter wait times than other national dealerships, great customer service, and great communication. Compliments to Deanza on superb service.
