A great way to get in some family time. Recommendations: bring your own snacks and hydration (water /juice...). Wear comfy shoes. Whether paying extra for the ride is worth it....? That will vary from person to person. For me the long walk with my wife and kids was good
This is an enormous, stimulating, and enchanting tourist attraction, which is packed with natural beauty and multitudinous species of animals, fishes, and birds. Any of the animals you can think of, except the elephant, is waiting to amuse you. Giraffes, lions, tigers, kangaroos, rhinos, gorillas, hippopotamuses, cheetahs, wild bulls, pythons, cobras, green snakes, jumbo turtles etc., are exciting to watch in their habitats. The entire place is made extremely prepossessing with the artistic integration of landscapes, animals, and captivating gardens.It is made up of many different pavilions organized in a systematical manner. There are directions everywhere so that you keep walking in the right direction from one pavilion to another without missing any area and animal.There are several picnic areas with lots of sitting arrangements, food services, water fountains, and well-maintained washrooms all over the place.If you want to see all the animals and learn about them in detail, you will easily spend 4 - 5 hours. If you go with kids, please go as early as possible - you are sure to spend all day there (9:00 - 18:00 on weekends and holidays.) To avoid inconvenience and extra spending, if you have children with you, it is a good idea to go with food and snacks. Please refrain from feeding the animals or birds. Your 'good act!' may interfere with their routine and induce some harmful, dangerous and incurable diseases.The admission fees of $ 29.00 for an adult and flat parking charge of $12.00 for a car is nothing when you think of feeding and taking care of innumerable animals as well as maintaining all the alluring place with all the facilities.Toronto Zoo, as you might think, is not only for kids, but it is also fit for people of all ages. It is a must-visit tourist place for all.
A beautiful place filled with lovely beings. Visited recently after living in Toronto for 9 years. An extremely humbling experience.From the front entrance; to the different paths; the myriad cages with their privileged inhabitants; the Zoomobile; the pet peacock near the restaurant; the beautiful flora; and many other things which slip off memory - all were out of this world.Definitely would recommend the Toronto Zoo to everyone. Please arrive early at the gates so as not to miss out on the heavenly sights and sounds within.
Truly had an amazing experience with my loved ones! Came down during Labor Day weekend and the weather was perfect. Managed to catch the feedings of the polar bears and hippos - both were truly a delight. My favourites were probably the polar bears and the raccoons. The otters were adorable too. They loved to show off and do tricks in the water. I really appreciate the volunteers this zoo has. Very friendly and informative and you can certainly tell the staff are passionate and care about their jobs. The only thing semi-critical I have to say is that the Canadian Domain is QUITE steep. Definitely be prepared for a hilly area compared to the rest of the park. That hill is something else! Also, the whole entire Africa area was truly something - we especially enjoyed watching the hyenas get excited, especially near the small children. Another thing - Smokes Poutinerie ran out of cheese curds? All good though. All in all this zoo is spectacular. Looking forward to coming back with the exact same people, year after year.
The zoo is such a wonderful place to take visitors. Its is a well planned park and to know that the animals here are healthy and sound of mind enough to feel comfortable to make babies makes me feel confident that they are taking care of the animals really well. I was lucky enough to see a baby rhino and baby hippo. The park is always clean even with so many people coming and going. This is my favourite Zoo.
