Really helpful staff and a wide variety of options. The staff helped me choose a gift for my 12YO daughter and gave me a lot of insight and options into what she would most appreciate.
the layout of the store is so that all the art supplies are in one aisle, making it the hotspot and very crowded. I also feel that the employees are always "following" and "watching" and that really takes down the shopping experience.
Very nice selection of arts, crafts and gift ideas for a local store. Gifts and children items are quite original, and make unique gifts different from the usual items one ends up getting at toys stores.
The product selection is fine and it is nice to have such long-lived specialty stores in the Beaches. However, they need to improve on their customer service. I’ve never received a ‘hello’ on the way in, never been asked if I need help finding anything, and never really been treated with even basic retail-style friendliness. Today, I received a comment from one of the younger employees that was unnecessarily rude, which is what caused me to write this review. I don’t think I’ll be shopping there again.
My previous experience with Midoco has been a hit or miss. This time it was a HIT! Sam was kind and helpful. Prices were on par (if not better) than amazon. Item bought: Midori Traveler's Notebook system.
Been coming here periodically for years pre/para-COVID. +3 stars: This a great little shop for unique gifts, stationery and beginner-mid level friendly arts and crafts supplies. If you have an artist in your life and want to find a unique gift they'll adore, I'd recommend this place... N.B. Not as extensively stocked as other art supply stores, so if you're an art/design student as I was, may not suit all your speciality needs or budget---this place is more for hobbyists or parents tbh makes sense given the location/demographics. -2 stars: My experience of their customer service has almost always been a mixed bag of super friendly/quirky staff to downright snobby. Today was unfortunately the latter: two of the cashiers chatted about a customer spending lots of money at the shop while my partner and I waited to be checked out. I had placed the item on the counter and received no acknowledgement whatsoever as they continued their convo they felt like they had to make us listen to. We waited for what felt like an indecent amount of time, enough time for another customer to come behind us; and these two brilliant young ladies to get a clue from their floor staffer. To top it off, the cashier who finally checked us out made no eye contact, was unfriendly and vapid in her demeanor. My partner who is usually very lax was also extremely annoyed by this whole experience. I loved coming to this place up until this point. There is no excuse for this lack of common sense let alone customer service. Maybe they misunderstood the assignment? Smh.
Been in person a few times, the young workers are always friendly and service is timely. However, an older gentleman seemed to feel uneasy with my girlfriend and I’s presence and seemed to hover and watch extra close. We unfortunately haven’t been back But it always looks like a cute store on the outside
