I love buying from here supporting local business. Especially since Curry’s went online it is nice to have a physical art store to go to and they can only survive with our support. Strongly recommend.
Employees were lovely and helpful, the store feels a little cramped but that's not their fault. The prices were very reasonable and with the student discount they offered even better, no complaints.
Support your local Art supply store! They're getting harder to find. Above Ground still has 2 locations that I know of. This one on Dundas West is smaller but still covers awide rangee of arts. I was looking for fineliners and a fan brush. They had several choices for both. It may be a little cheaper to order art supplies online but nothing beats wandering through the aisles, holding a brush in your hand, or testing a pen or marker on squares of paper that bear the artistic scribbles and messages of those who came before you! :)
My daughter bought me a gift of mother/daughter wine & paint night. Had a terrific time. Although I can brush up on my painting skills, the instructor was very thorough and patient and very skilled! What a great idea. Highly recommended!
This was my first time at this location, and I’m so happy I stopped by! The staff were incredibly friendly and polite, which felt like a breath of fresh air compared to the downtown store, where I’ve often felt like I was being treated with suspicion. This is definitely my new go-to spot!
Stopped in to pick up some ink, staff were not in my face but were helpful when approached. Though the days of the art mega stores are behind us, the staff are irreplaceable. Great spot for supplies and they can get you just about anything!
Pretty sweet spot, they have a student discount and plenty of good art supplies. I went as i wanted to paint DnD miniatures and their acrylic paints and brushes were alot cheaper than those offered in the hobby stores.
