I bought 6 yards of primed canvas and asked to pick it up at the Danforth stored. I was shocked when they handed me a shopping bag with the canvas folded into small squares. Never in my art career have I seen this! Canvas is sold rolled up!! Now I have to figure out how to get all the folds/cracks out before using it. Staff needs training - VERY disappointing.
Such an adorable and amazing store. While I first fell in love with the Annex location, I was thrilled when they opened a Danforth location. I always find something I love in there.
Nice local art store! It looks small from the outside, but it’s actually pretty deep and more spacious than expected. They seem to have a variety of art supplies, and I actually prefer this size — easier to browse and not tiring like the big stores. Near the entrance, they have fun little items like puzzles, tarot cards, plush toys, and other quirky gifts that are enjoyable to look at. A great place not only for art lovers but also for finding unique small gifts.
Good selection but heads up - they don’t offer a discount to fashion design students… strictly art students? Bit of a weird / off-putting policy. Will stick to deserres going forward.
I ordered a bunch of Traveler’s Company items from Midoco, and I accidentally added one item in the wrong size to my order. The employee doing the shipment that day seemed to have noticed the inconsistency and actually called me asking if it was intentional or if it was a mistake. It was a mistake of course, so I’m very happy they called me before shipping my order! There was also a small price difference between the item I ordered and the item I wanted, but their site/program made it easy for me to pay the difference in a timely manner. Thankful for their attention to detail and quick shipping! Will order again if they happen to have the Traveler’s Company charms in stock at some point in the future…
I love this store and workers so I always buy from here. But one casher lady treat me so bad and rude way this morning. When I go in store I told this lady 'good morning'she didn't reply me and she was telling another worker'I don't know what she saying'.When I go back to casher I asked her'Can I have a bag?'she saied'I don't understand what you saying'.So I asked her three times same things and she just say'Oh bag'she was laughing rude way,she didn't apology. She is totally "Racist" and rude parson.I hope I don't see her next time.
I love this store! I get most of my art supplies from them now. They are very close to me, and the staff are super nice and helpful. The shelves are well-stocked, and if I don't have time to browse, I can always just order online and pick it up. That takes a few days. I visited them a few times during lockdown (and after), and they followed safety protocols well. Prices are sometimes lower than other art stores too, and they carry puzzles, games, and cute little knickknacks. Happy to support local!
