Me and my daughter had cup of he best ever hot coco today,I love the antiques set up upstairs bring that nice cozy farm vibe ,see will definitely see you again..
They are always welcoming and give me some chocolate to taste. Last time I tried hot coco and it was so rich and tasty. For the chocolate bar, if you bring your own container you can get a discount plus extra chocolate as a bonus. I think the price of the drinks is reasonable compared to other coffee shops.
If you’re a chocolate lover who values quality and ethics, look no further than Chocosol. They make small-batch, bean-to-bar dark chocolate using direct-trade cacao and are deeply committed to ethical sourcing and sustainability. My absolute favourite is the Mon Cherry D’Amour—made with 65% dark chocolate, vanilla sea salt, and dried cherries. It’s the perfect balance of bittersweet richness, tart fruitiness, and just a hint of salt to bring all the flavours together. Truly divine, and in my opinion, a must-try. I also thoroughly enjoyed the Kakai + Cacao bar, which features maple-glazed pumpkin seeds, sea salt, and 52% chocolate. Slightly sweeter than the cherry bar—almost edging toward a milk chocolate—it’s still incredibly well-balanced. The added crunch from the pumpkin seeds is a great touch. If you like spice, the Five Chilli Bullet bar packs a serious punch! Even with a high spice tolerance, I found it fiery—so definitely one for the heat-lovers. All in all, I left a happy customer and feel proud to support a local business that cares just as much about people and the planet as they do about making amazing chocolate.
Our recent school trip to Chocosol was an absolutely delightful and incredibly educational experience! From the moment we stepped into their space, the passion for sustainable, ethically sourced chocolate was palpable. It wasn't just a tour; it was an immersive journey into the world of truly conscious consumption. The atmosphere itself felt warm and inviting, truly reflecting the wholesome values they champion, making it a perfect environment for students to learn and engage. What truly sets Chocosol apart is their unwavering commitment to eco-friendliness, which resonated deeply with our students. Learning about their direct-trade relationships with Indigenous communities, ensuring fair wages and sustainable farming practices, was eye-opening. We saw firsthand their minimal-waste approach, from the cacao bean to the finished bar, and understood their dedication to ecological preservation. It's inspiring to see a business thrive not just on delicious products, but on a foundation of respect for people and the planet. The highlight for many of us was witnessing the traditional stone-grinding process. This ancient technique, powered by pedal bikes, not only showcased their dedication to low-impact production but also created an incredibly unique and flavourful chocolate. It was fascinating to see how the beans were transformed into rich, unadulterated chocolate right before our eyes, retaining all their natural goodness. This hands-on demonstration truly brought the bean-to-bar philosophy to life for everyone. Of course, no chocolate trip is complete without tasting, and Chocosol did not disappoint! Their array of dark chocolates, each with distinct flavour profiles, was a revelation. From rich and robust to subtle and fruity, every sample was a testament to the quality of their cacao and the artistry of their process. Knowing that we were enjoying chocolate that was not only incredibly delicious but also made without dairy, gluten, or soy, using only the purest ingredients, added another layer of appreciation. In conclusion, Chocosol is far more than just a chocolate shop; it's a model for ethical business and sustainable living. Our school trip provided invaluable lessons on global citizenship, environmental responsibility, and the true meaning of craft. We left with not only a newfound appreciation for chocolate but also a profound respect for the dedicated individuals behind Chocosol's mission. We highly recommend Chocosol for anyone seeking an authentic, delicious, and deeply conscientious chocolate experience – especially for educational outings!
I love the coffee and chocolate in this place. I have tried different ones, and all of them are good. It took me a while to discover that they have a little space at the top where you can sit and have your coffee. We brought home the jaguar swirl Alegria Bites chocolate, which is fantastic for charcuterie or as a snack. The flavour of this place really reminds me of Oaxaca.
This is the best chocolate. Period. Not only does it have the best, most complex, and superb lingering flavour, it is very likely the most ethical and environmentally sustainable chocolate you can get. I feel good eating this chocolate, not only because it's good for me, but also because I know the farmers and farm workers were paid fairly, there's no child labour, and it is farmed organically and in an environmentally sustainable way. In summary: goodness every way you look at it. My favourite is the 83% Rainforest Vanilla which has wonderful roasted cocoa nibs (awesome on its own or with a little scoop of peanut butter). I also enjoy the spicy hot chocolate. Simply divine! Edit February 2024 - I usually get my ChocoSol fix at the St. Jacob's market in Waterloo. Yesterday I finally had the chance to visit the St. Clair store and stock up. The friendly ChocoSolista was kind enough to provide some samples. I've never tried the Bird Sanctuary single origin before - it is incredible. Must try. P.S. remember to bring a container for your chocolate purchase - good for planet AND you can get a discount!
First of all, excellent service. Secondly, first coffee place that serves water with coffee. F Third, gluten free food for almost everything that you eat. Amazing chocolate, and coffee. Therefore I give this 5 star review and even if I cant give more I'll give it a 10 star .
