I try to support local whenever possible. I truly enjoyed my cappuccino and butter tart. The staff were friendly, not at all pushy in recommending their pastry options. Next time I will try one of their sandwiches of the day.
What a wonderful place! I’m a true coffee addicted and I love going to different coffee shops every week. I was super excited about going to Larry’s after reading the reviews and boy I am so glad I did. ☕️ Coffee: I tried their special Maple Latte and it was AMAZING. Usually I only order Americano or a regular Latte because I hate when the coffee is filled with syrups that make it too sweet, but this one was fantastic. ? Food: Butter tart is not my first choice of baked goods, but I had to try it after reading the comments and OMG I might start ordering butter tarts from now on. The best one I’ve ever eaten. I’ll be dreaming about it. I didn’t try their croissants, so I definitely need to go back because they looked delicious. ??Service: The baristas were very kind and working super fast to make sure everyone was happy and satisfied. ✨ Vibes: it is a very cozy place, I only wish they had more seats available, that’s the only downside. I would have loved to stay there and enjoyed my coffee and butter tart, but it was very busy, as expected for a Sunday morning.
Brown Sugar Oat Latte to make your knees weak! Ham & Cheese croissant *chefs kiss* The baristas are always so friendly and really make you feel welcome. I love coming here and feeling included in the neighbourhood! The vibe at Larry’s is always perfect
Very cute little cafe which smells Divine in the back with fresh baked goods. I loved that there were ample plugs for working. The hot chocolate and almond croissant were great. Not too sweet. Definitely plan on going back to work there.
Larry’s Place is one of those gems you’re happy to discover. The moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels warm and inviting, with a cozy setup that makes you want to stay a while. The staff are friendly and attentive, always making sure you feel taken care of without being overbearing. The highlight for me is definitely the coffee—it’s amazing! You can tell they take pride in how they brew it. The flavor is rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced, easily one of the best cups I’ve had in a long time. It’s the kind of coffee you look forward to, whether it’s your morning boost or an afternoon pick-me-up. On top of that, the food is fresh and flavorful, with generous portions that feel like real value for money. Everything we tried tasted homemade and carefully prepared. Larry’s Place is more than just a café—it’s the kind of spot that makes you want to come back again and again, whether for a coffee break, a casual meal, or to spend some time with friends. Highly recommended!
I'm searching for the best butter tart in Ontario - see some of my previous reviews for other options. One name that repeatedly came up was Larry's Place, so this weekend I visited to check them out. First, it's worth noting that Larry's Place is a great coffee shop. There's a fun vibe, the place is clearly popular in the neighbourhood, and the barista was very friendly. I would gladly return for a coffee in the future. But my visit was strictly for business: I needed to taste their butter tart. I'm pleased to confirm that they have an excellent iteration, among the best I've tried. The crust is an interesting mix between flaky and soft, whereas most butter tarts tend to be one or the other. It's sort of the best of both worlds, and with a pleasant sticky texture, too, from the filling caramelizing against the tart. In terms of the filling, the tarts are not particularly stuffed. Based on comments I've heard from friends and family, I would view this as a bonus: it seems that most people don't want a deluge of the filling. The texture of the filling is also pleasing: it's gooey, but not too liquidy. Overall, Larry's Place is a strong contender among the best butter tarts in the province. It's definitely worth checking out - and maybe grab a coffee while you're there!
All the pastries I’ve tried have been outstanding, but their croissants (especially the walnut apple) are a knockout! Great ambience and lovely people, it’s always a pleasure to visit.
