The gym itself is in great condition, but the staff’s customer service is very disappointing. When I first contacted them to sign up, they responded quickly, but when I actually needed assistance later on, they completely ignored my emails and calls. I had to reach out multiple times before getting any response. They also showed little concern for injuries and didn’t explain things properly when I asked for assistance. To make matters worse, they wanted to keep my key without offering a refund. Overall, it was a frustrating experience, and I’ll be joining a different gym that values its members and provides better support.
Warning – Predatory Business Practices As others have commented in the google reviews, this branch of Anytime Fitness has predatory business practices. 1. If you email them, they will claim the email is inactive but will use that same email when it benefits them. 2. Their phone number does not work and will direct you to an automated voice message, you have to always come in person if you need something. 3. You cannot cancel your gym membership under any circumstances outside of the 10-day cool-down period and/or moving 30km from a gym, which is unlikely since these gyms are frequently nearby. 4. If you insist on canceling your gym membership, they will threaten to charge you all remaining months as a cancellation fee and/or take you to collections. 5. They rush you through sections of your contract, this includes auto-renewal policies…etc. As others have commented, and upon looking through my contract, I noticed that many things were signed off on that were not initially agreed upon. 6. They do not give you a copy of your contract, their excuse is that your email is not on file. That’s a nono. 7. The owner/manager of this gym was confrontational and aggressive upon requesting cancellation of the gym membership 8. The owner does not follow their own contract. There is a maximum cancellation fee of $300.00 CAD upon cancelling the agreement. The owner demanded $1000.00 CAD that must be paid the day after or else they will not cancel your contract. Everything about the management of this gym is deceptive. Rather than offering a product/service that is needed, they use underhanded tactics to lock you into a contract. These tactics infringe on some sections of the Consumer Protection Act (2002) regarding gym/fitness memberships. I insist everyone to have a good read over this if you are affected by this gym's management at any point and time.
The Leslieville Anytime Fitness location is amazing! Super clean, very friendly staff and up to date equipment. Improvements are always being made and the environment is welcoming for anyone.
Have been a member since the facility opened. It is a well stocked gym and they continue to add machines and services. The owners, Jamie and Trish, and their staff are very helpful and easy to get along with. I really enjoy my workout time there!
