Dylan is a true artist. He takes the time to assess the flow of the hair along with the shape of the face. He takes the time to articulate exactly what his clients need. He never disappoints, and his fine scissor cuts are outstanding along with lively conversation. I've never been happier with my hair until I met Dylan.
Dylan's expertise as a hair stylist is evident each and every time I walk out after an appointment. Not only does my hair look exactly as I wanted it to, but I feel nourished by Dylan's ability to ask the important questions about what you, the client, want and then implement that vision. Even more important, Dylan is warm and welcoming. A great experience all round.
I hesitated to write this review, because Dimitrios was really nice and I do accept some blame for not being more articulate about what I wanted. But, haircuts should make you feel amazing and I don't feel amazing, so figured I'd post in case it helps someone else. Usually I go to Afina, but she had to cancel my appointment and couldn't book another that worked with my schedule for a while, so she booked me in with Dimitrios. I trusted her, so accepted the appointment. If you're someone who knows exactly what you want and how to articulate it (or just wants to hand over the reigns), ignore this review. My issue was that he didn't ask the right questions to understand what I wanted. He asked things like "do you want me to point cut or use shears?" (idk, I'm not a stylist), rather than questions like "do you want the layers blended or choppy?" (historically, stylists have seen my hair going in and known I want the same cut, so the answer is definitely blended, but also if he had asked I would have told him -- instead, the current layers are very choppy), or "do you want the back to be rounded or straight across?" -- the type of questions stylists have typically asked to understand what I want. The shortest layer is also a few inches shorter in the back than what I said I wanted the shortest layer to be (also the shortest length is just one small group of hair, so maybe it was a mistake?) To be clear, the haircut isn't horrible, but I am regretting trusting Afina to rebook me with someone else (and that I won't feel comfortable going back to her after this review!), and I am eagerly waiting for it to grow out so that I can get it cleaned up to be what I wanted somewhere else.
Dylan is amazing. Always on time, does a great job. Surpasses expectations! Cpean space and amazing experiance. Very reasonable price. I always leave happy.
I saw Afina for a mini foil/vivid dye today and she was amazing! Extremely knowledgeable and proficient, she did an awesome job, I'm thrilled! The whole team is very friendly and welcoming and it's a great space. I will definitely be back!
My hair has been struggling with heat damage for a long time and Dimitri was able to help so much He showed me the best options as well as showing me styling techniques (the photo is after a home wash) I will definitely be returning!
After reading the excellent reviews about this salon, I booked an appointment for a hair cut with Troy. I told him I need to layers since I have a lot of split ends. First he was making fun of my previous haircut, was kind of rude, when asked for a bit shorter later to trim the sick part another sarcastic response. He did spend spend decent amount of time cutting, but the end result was not good. After washing my hair the layered where not flowing nicely they look funny and ugly. Will not go back.
