I came here about an hour ago to get a hair cut. The lady who sat me down asked if I had put product in my hair, and told me it was unclean. She said she could not give me a proper haircut, while she touched my hair with a look of displeasure on her face. I told her I had only put a small amount of argan oil in it today for frizziness, and that I had washed it yesterday. I felt uncomfortable. I was very insulted and amazed at the lack of professionalism and rudeness. I walked out shortly after, as I did not want to receive a service from someone who behaved like her. I will not be returning to this location. She should learn how to speak properly to clients.
I requested a fade but ended up with a poorly done box cut, worse than what I could’ve done myself. Three minutes in, with customers arriving, the barber rushed, showed me the mirror, and called it done. When I asked for the fade, she got flustered, insisted it was finished, then hastily cut it shorter. Terrible experience, and I still paid. Anyways she rushed it and it looks and feels totally un even and definitely not a fade. 35$ for 3 minutes of whatever she was doing to my hair is ridiculous.
I have been going to this Top Cuts for years and always get quick, efficient service. In and out and a great haircut to boot. Never let me down - thanks team!
I've been going to this location for over a decade. I've used a number of stylists - Oleg, Carol, Laura - and I want to say how absolutely delighted I have always been and continue to be. These stylists are more like family: so friendly, so welcoming, so very social: I look forward to every visit and come out glowing. It goes without saying that a friendly ambiance is not enough: I need a quality cut. And that is precisely what I get every, single time. I want to address myself to the customer who was unhappy with Oleg. This gentleman - and he is a true gentleman - was a dancer in Russia. He brings the same kind of artistry to his work as a stylist. Oleg is an introvert, so, no, you're not going to be engaging in banter; but he is absolutely focused on, and passionate about, his work. If you saw him working on a previous client, you'd have noticed how meticulous he his, not allowing himself to miss the slightest imperfection. You'd have also noted how long he takes. Naturally, the more clients one does, the more tips one earns. But Oleg's overriding preoccupation is preserving his reputation as an uncompromising professional. So ignore the naysayers: The disgruntled are always amongst us. Come to this shop and, whomever you choose as your stylist, be prepared for a highly enjoyable visit and a cut you can be proud of. UPDATE: its more than 2 weeks later, and this is still the worst haircut. The name of the "barber" (I hesitate to use that title for this person) is Oleg. DO NOT GO TO OLEG FOR A HAIRCUT. STAY AWAY FROM THIS AWFUL PLACE. I just got the worst haircut i have ever received in my entire life here. It's so bad I am forced to wear a hat inside my own house, i cant stand to look at my own reflection. I am now forced to cancel plans I had because I simply cannot be seen this way. This has never ever happened to me before. I am in utter disbelief and shock over the abysmal haircut I received. It's like if someone with no vision cut my hair. With a chainsaw. (This is the first Google review I have ever left in my life too, btw. I had to say something. I would give zero stars, if I could. They don't even deserve the one). STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.
I get the fact that this place is not made to be the fancy barbershop since they charge less compared to other places on king St, but I cannot believe that they lack basic skills to be a barber, they did a lousy job on my haircut, the lady cutting my hair literally only took 7-8 minutes to cut my hair and left it a mess, Horrible experience, as bad as watching the Raptors. -Raghav singhal
Top Cuts is an inexpensive and very quick way to get a good haircut. I'm not sure what the people who expressed dissatisfaction expected when they looked at the price list, but top cuts is about volume and value. If people wanted a bougie haircut, there are lots of expensive places available in the neighborhood. I will be returning again and again, Nicole is a personal favorite❤️
