Minus Star review. I have never encountered a group of such unprofessional legal reps, who ruined my court case experience. If you insist on hiring the "team" get their real names in FULL and consult the Law Society of Ontario to find out if they are legit lawyers before you hire them. Buyer Beware!
0 STARS!!!!! DO NOT HIRE LANDLORD LAWYER!!!! I trusted them after a reassuring phone call, but they took my first month’s rent payment and disappeared when I needed them most. They were confident it would be “easy” to resolve, but after going back and forth with my tenant, no progress was made. They even suggested I involve the police for fraud, which went nowhere. As my court date approached, they were unreachable, and I had to hire another lawyer at the last minute. They don’t have a direct number, take 48 hours to reply, and seem annoyed when you reach out. You don’t even know who’s handling your case! They demand money upfront, but deliver nothing in return. Don’t waste your time or money—this company will leave you stranded and stressed!
Horrible experience. They demand a flat rate fee ($2,100.00) to provide a "full service" (write and file the application, walk it through the entire process, including negotiating with the tenant so they might pay or leave the premises, be present for hearings and get this professional tenant out). They took my money then delayed submitting the application by 2 months, they didn't negotiate with the tenant, didn't reply to emails or calls in a timely manner (took days sometimes), they don't provide last names for staff, those who did offer last names don't appear as registered lawyers or paralegals, the person who apparently serves the forms didn't sign their name or list themselves as legal representation for the file and all went dark without any replies once I complained about the service. I haven't heard from them in months, they cannot be found in any registry and I ended up doing all the work myself despite having paid them to do it. I would give them ZERO stars! Stay away from "Landlord Lawyers", they are unprofessional and incompetent shysters'. Update Oct 7, 2023: There's been not one reply to any calls or emails since July. Someone I know called them twice and got no reply. This morning I tried to click on 3 positive reviews, Google says they are "unsupported links" which leads me to believe they are fake reviews. If you've been ripped off by these thieves, call your creditcard company and despite the charges. I too filed a complaint with the Law Society, they shouldn't be allowed to operate in this manner.
WARNING ! Do not use this company. Please. It's a fraudulent company. I personally went to both addresses that they have listed and no company exist at their location. They took my money and never heard from them again
Title: Cautionary Review: Empty Promises and Lack of Action by Johnathan's Firm I feel compelled to share my experience with Johnathan's firm to caution others who may be seeking legal services. It is with disappointment that I must express my frustration with the promises made by Johnathan and his team, which were far from the reality of the service provided. From the outset, it was evident that Johnathan's primary focus was on acquiring our payment rather than delivering on the commitments he made. While he initially presented himself as a professional with expertise, it quickly became apparent that his attention waned once the payment was secured. Subsequent interactions with him were characterized by delays, a lack of follow-up, and the need for multiple attempts to elicit any response. Alvin, the lawyer assigned to our case, was similarly disappointing. His lack of investment in our case was evident until the eleventh hour, leaving us ill-prepared when crucial decisions needed to be made. It seemed that Alvin's involvement was limited to the last-minute rush, leaving us to wonder about the quality of his counsel. To add to our disappointment, it appeared that many of the glowing reviews we encountered were likely generated internally by Johnathan's team, only to be passed on to clients for posting. We were even offered the same strategy, which we promptly declined. Our skepticism was confirmed when the actions of Dixon Commercial, supposedly taking "necessary steps," amounted to nothing more than empty words. Despite the substantial fee of over $4000 paid, we received little in return and were left feeling underserved and unrepresented. As a testament to the lack of engagement, our tenant presented an offer that we had little choice but to accept. This decision was not based on Alvin's readiness or his understanding of our case, as both were clearly absent. Throughout our engagement, questions we raised were left unanswered, leaving us feeling frustrated and disregarded. In conclusion, I strongly caution anyone considering Johnathan's firm to exercise prudence. While Johnathan may be a charismatic communicator, his words are unfortunately devoid of action. The same applies to Alvin, who demonstrated a lack of dedication until the final moments of our case. It is my hope that my experience serves as a warning to others, encouraging them to seek legal counsel elsewhere, where promises are upheld, and actions align with words. Cathy Baha
I find myself compelled to furnish a review pertaining to the legal services provided by Johnathan's firm. It is with a sense of responsibility that I articulate my disappointment, accompanied by a level of consternation arising from the stark contrast between the commitments made and the actualities observed throughout our engagement. The veneer of professionalism exhibited by Mr. Johnathan, with its semblance of expertise and acumen, rapidly dissolved into a mire of inaction and laxity post the commencement of our engagement. A notable shift was discernible post remittance of our retainer, revealing an unsettling divergence between the projected intent and the consequent disposition. The subsequent interactions were replete with a conspicuous absence of timeliness, a deficit of diligence in adhering to communicated plans, and a palpable dearth of requisite follow-through. It regrettably transpired that Mr. Alvin, the appointed attorney, manifested a comparable dereliction of duty. His initial detachment from our case morphed into a belated engagement bordering on the eleventh hour. The apparent lack of substantive involvement and protracted periods of inaction underpinned a marked disconcertion, thereby impinging upon the efficacy of counsel in critical junctures. In conjunction with the foregoing, a distressing pattern emerged, hinting at the internal origin of laudatory testimonials ostensibly attributed to the firm. It was discernible that such plaudits were crafted internally, subsequently imparted to clientele for dissemination. This orchestrated veneer of acclaim became self-evident, thereby heightening skepticism concerning the integrity of the firm's self-proclaimed standing. Furthermore, while purporting to enlist the aid of Dixon Commercial in implementing requisite actions, the actions undertaken were incongruent with the rhetoric. A glaring incongruity was evident between articulated actions and observable outcomes, engendering disillusionment concerning the dispensed value. Regrettably, our financial outlay, which exceeded $4000, precipitated an incongruous return on investment. The culmination of our association materialized in the acceptance of a tenant offer, a decision bereft of strategic forethought and legal sagacity. The lack of preparedness exhibited by Mr. Alvin and the conspicuous absence of an informed decision-making matrix rendered our position vulnerable and uninformed. In culmination, I pen this review as a clarion call to exercise due diligence when considering the legal services proffered by Johnathan's firm. The seductive eloquence of Mr. Johnathan's discourse remains bereft of substantive action. Parallelly, Mr. Alvin's involvement evinced a want of diligence until the eleventh hour, overshadowing the potential efficacy of his counsel. It is my fervent hope that this narrative serves as a prudent reminder, guiding potential seekers of legal representation towards venues where assertions are substantiated by unwavering action.
The best lawyer ever. I thought our situation was hopeless one until Ike helped us resolve the issue. Ike is very compassionate and made us relax during our ordeal. I highly recommend this lawfirm. Our house will finally have peace and can be called a home again. And also we have achieves the justice we desperately needed. Thank you Ike.
