Great service! Very nice and understanding if you need to adjust your appointment. Very careful and check before every step that you're comfortable and that you like the colour. Waxing is also great, they pay a lot of attention to detail.
I had an unfortunate and awkward experience using a gift card at 550 Nail Bar. I had a gift card to cover most of my service, but I was charged tax on the gift card portion and then charged tax again on the remaining balance I paid out of pocket. I even asked the receptionist to double-check at the time, and she insisted it was correct. After leaving, the total still didn’t seem right, so I recalculated everything and went back to ask again. Only then did she realize I had been charged tax twice. She handed back the overpaid amount without any apology, which made the situation even more uncomfortable. Overall, it was a disappointing interaction. Make sure to double-check your bill so you don’t get overcharged.
From the moment I walked in I felt welcomed, even with me having to fix one nail, usually places shun that as it’s not full service, but sometimes time isn’t there to sit down for a full set. Life gets busy and 550 Nail Bar understands the assignment. Lawrence was incredibly fast and efficient. He effortlessly fixed my one bio gel nail and ensured I was happy! I will be back when I find myself in the Portland area! Thank you again!
i had an incredible pedicure here with christian! i called on a monday and they took me immediately :) they were very kind to me and not only helped me repair a cracked nail…they also told me some tips about how my nails grow and how to properly care for them the pedicure was very detailed and the results are beautiful! i will definitely return and i’ve told many friends to come! only recommendation i would have to this salon is ventilation, it smells very strongly of acetone. so if you’re sensitive to scents (i am not) then i would avoid (photo taken almost a week later!)
I am new to the area, so I was looking for a place to do a manicure/pedicure. I went to this place to do a pedicure and absolutely loved it. It also lasted more than a month without showing crazy growth. The second time I came to do a shellac manicure, I made an appointment as I expected it to be the busiest time of the day. Not only I had to wait 30 mins to be seated but they also forgot what service I was doing, which is okay. They were busy, but the wait was horrendous. The manicure didn't last even a week. After this experience, I still decided to go and do the pedicure as I loved how they did it last time. I also asked to remove my shellac and shape my nails without doing a manicure. They changed nail technicians in the middle of the service because they were busy, the girl, who continued doing my pedicure, was definitely rushing it. But at the end, it still looked good. Then they took a tip without even asking anything which I found rude. So they gave me less change assuming what I was tipping? And now not even a week later, my shellac shipped on both toes. I wanted to like this place, but unfortunately, it's a no for me.
Myself and 2 girlfriends booked to get our nails done earlier in the week. We then called back and confirmed the time and services for the Saturday. When we arrived, the man acted surprised and kept asking us who we talked to and that it was a miscommunication because he only had written down 1 person for dip, which is neither the number of of people nor the services we booked. The place was full and he asked if we could come back. Well. No. We had other plans with brunch following our appointment. This isn’t the first time it happens. You call and you book an appointment only to arrive to find out that they have taken walk-ins or have told others to come at the same time but if my appointment is at 11:00, why should I need to wait 30min or more. Schedule your appointments accordingly and don’t make people wait.
First time going here today! I was pleasantly surprised. The owners were very friendly and nice. Kelly did an amazing job on my nails and even helped me pick a beautiful colour that I’m extremely happy with. The place is very neat and elegant. I did not need an appointment and did not have to wait long. She took her time and perfected my nails just the way I like it. The prices are very very reasonable compared to other places downtown Toronto.They also have a card they stamp every time you go to get a discount! Ive been looking for a new nail place since I moved downtown and I’ve finally found a place that I’m super happy with. I highly recommend this nail place!
