They took their time with cleaning up my cuticles on my feet I have never had such detail and time done it was very comforting knowing it was done well.
Bleeding. Pain. 4 HOURS for only fake nails. 4 different technicians. NOT what was asked for, upcharged. My niece is visiting Toronto and was so exited to get her nails done. Unfortunately, this business took complete advantage of her. She asked for dip nails, they refused and said they can only do tips. Dremel was hurting her (see photos of bleeding) so she asked them to go easier and please stop it’s hurting, she was told she just has dry nail beds and they continued to drill her skin more. She couldn’t get a design because it took so long to do basic set she ran out of time. A set of nails does NOT take 4 hours. The salon kept changing her nail tech, she had four different people working on her nails - keeping in mind, she has also had her nails done before so she knows what the experience is like. She was traumatized. Her nail beds are now all SCABBED and her nails are damaged. She got her nails done Saturday and they already look like they need a fill. They wouldn’t take AMEX or Apple Pay but only told her after. Keep your friends and family far far away from this place.
They have a special on right now where if you get a regular manicure and pedicure you will receive a hot stone massage. Great experience, friendly staff too.
I recently had an absolutely awful experience at Five Star Nails. I went in for a simple shellac manicure on my own natural long nails, but it turned into a nightmare. Despite my clear request, they proceeded to clip all my nails down to the nub and started doing acrylic extensions. I was confused and told them I did not want acrylics, as I had grown my nails out specifically for the shellac manicure. To make matters worse, the owner, who was busy with another customer, kept interjecting and trying to persuade me to get the acrylic nails for $75 instead of the $34 shellac I wanted. Even after I expressed how upset I was about my nails being cut short, she pushed even more, trying to convince me to go for the more expensive biogel option.I felt pressured and frustrated, and in the end, I reluctantly settled for shellac on my now short nub nails. The entire experience was stressful and disappointing. I would strongly advise everyone to avoid Five Star Nails and choose one of the many other nail salons on Queen Street. There's a reason this place is always empty. I would rate it 0 stars if I could.
I can’t say enough about this nail salon. They always greet you and make you feel welcome. Each time I receive outstanding customer service and care. I always bring my photos of design that I want and he always does an incredible job as it’s often more beautiful than the photo. I highly recommend Five Star Nails. They are all very very good at everything they do!
