Usually I have no complaints since I have a lot of respect for nail techs but this was ridiculous! I’ve been to this nail salon multiple times this year since I’ve moved to the area and I’ve never felt sooo ripped off in my life. Went in for a shellac pedicure and a very short full set manicure never have I paid more than $100 for these services however at this salon, they charge more than what’s advertised and have no menu to base the price on. I’ll never visit this place again, been here before never have I paid soo much for this quality of work. Let’s not forget that the nail tech who I spoke to about this was rude, no price breakdown, no hospitality whatsoever. This was a joke
I used to go here a lot, but I stopped going for a while because my nails were filed down so thin that it hurt. I stopped by recently to give it another chance, and it was even worse service. The girl that used to file my nails painfully thin was the same girl who did my pedicure this time. The pedicure hurt so bad, and I have 3 cuts and scabbed over cuticles now. She barely did any foot scrub or massage. It was not relaxing at all as they kept loudly talking to each other from across the salon. They also made fun of a woman who came in asking for a price. When she left, they were all giggling and laughing behind her back. Highly unprofessional!! You can tell Jenny is never around anymore. My new local spot is Infinity Salon further east on Bloor. Professional, relaxing, and really beautiful salon. I will not be giving Lux another chance.
Terrible experience here. I’m not sure what’s going on with the nail salons in Toronto… this particular place messed up my manicure and pedicure badly. Firstly, before even getting into the actual skills set, the girl who did my nails kept checking her phone as she was doing them, she also wasn’t cleaning up after herself and there were nails all over the floor as she was clipping them (mine and other peoples’). So gross. In terms of skill and procedures, they filed my nails so thin that they’re so unhealthy and chipping not even a week after getting them done (manicure is shellac). For my pedicure, she told me I could leave (no oil or wrap provided) and immediately after leaving my toe nails were ruined. I went back to get them to redo them since this was their mistake, and it took - literally - an extra 1.5 hours. In total I spent 3 hours there for a manicure and pedicure. To top it off, I had to keep asking them to check on my toes… they made it very clear that they didn’t care to provide any level of service to me. Gross people and incompetent staff.
I have been to Cathy and Chloe and both are really great for biogel! Never too thick or uneven, nails were actually still healthy underneath, and they both pay attention to detail. The owner is also really nice! Definitely the best for biogel in Toronto and I’ve been to both glossix locations, 1997 nail bar, cozy nail bar, gioia, and multiple organic nail bar locations. Had an issue with my nails once - they fixed it for me the next day complementary. They are willing to make sure you love your nails before you leave so just be honest if there’s something you want fixed.
I came here 3 or 4 times and the last time was a few months ago when I went on for a simple manicure following a terrible job that was done by the same salon. I went in for a simple french manicure and the process was a bit painful which surprised me.I left the salon with my nails were sensitive to heat like something was wrong. When I went back three weeks later to UNDO the french manicure I saw the disaster…. My nails have been filed so thin it turned my stomach to see. The woman that did this to me was taking care of someone as I was speaking… imagine the cringe when I was asked where that happened and who did that to me… I just had to point the woman next to me. But guess what, my nails took months to recover, it was impossible to put nail polish when I went to remove the french cause it was THAT BAD… BUT I still paid the 40$+ for the manicure to remove the french. My point is : Pay 80$ for a french, get to remove it 3 weeks later, discover your nails are HARMED and painful, can’t put product on the nails cause it’s that bad, the woman who killed your nails is sitting next to you but you’re still going to pay 40$ for your final « manicure » and wait 6 weeks for your nails to finally grow back. Don’t go there.
Popped in for a quick bio gel refill and was not disappointed. Super speedy service, very friendly staff and the cutest lil design. Great prices too! I’ll be back!
This is my first time, and will be my forever place to go. I love my technician Cassie as she gave me lots of advices of what is best for your nail. Love it from the design to service.
