Our girls have always been so well looked after by the entire team at Beach Kids. They are amazing with kids and so communicative and direct in helping us support good dental hygiene as parents. We are so glad to have found this practice!!!
We had a poor experience with Beach Kids Dentistry and won’t be returning. We initially chose them while our regular pediatric dentist was closed for renovations. Before booking, I asked whether their fees were standard and if they'd be covered under our insurance. I was told their fees were “pretty standard” and should be covered, and that they’d send a quote to confirm. We never received that quote—later blamed on a postal strike—but based on their verbal assurance, we went ahead with the appointments. That turned out to be a costly mistake. We ended up paying about $125 out-of-pocket per child, even though our insurance covers 95% of standard dental fees. For comparison, we typically pay about $8 per child at our other dentist. Beyond the cost, I wasn’t impressed with how they handled my 4-year-olds. The hygienist didn’t explain the tools or procedures, just jumped right in. When the kids were hesitant and didn’t sit perfectly still (as many young children don’t), the hygienist resorted to bribery—offering them more and more prizes instead of helping them feel more comfortable or building trust. They attempted x-rays using an outdated method (biting down on a rigid piece while the machine hovered nearby), which didn’t go smoothly. Despite not getting clear images, they diagnosed one child with a cavity and recommended treatment. In the end, we left with a $250 bill, two kids clutching piles of prizes, and only partially cleaned teeth. Once our regular dentist reopened, we went back. Their staff were far better with our kids, completed full cleanings, used more modern x-ray equipment (quicker and much easier for kids), and most importantly—found no cavity. Needless to say, we won’t be returning to Beach Kids Dentistry. The care and communication didn’t justify the high costs, and the misdiagnosis was concerning.
Beach Kids Dentistry is the best. Dr. Romain and the entire team make going to the dentist a welcoming and inclusive space. Our kids have no fear of the dentist based on the kindness and open communication from everyone who works there. Highly recommend!
We love this dental office! My kids look forward to going to the dentist--this was definitely not my exprience as a kid! It has made such a difference visiting a dental office that specialises in kids. Thank you, Beach Kids Dentistry.
I have been going here since I was a small child, I’m in my 20s now (they haven’t kicked me out yet) the staff is amazing and have always provided extremely exceptional service, I was in about a week ago for a cleaning and my hygienist did the most amazing job. I’m usually pretty sensitive, the service was totally painless and my teeth haven’t looked this good since I got my braces off in high school!
We have always had a positive experience going to Beach Kids Dentistry. My son has been going here since he was one years old. Like most toddlers, he was nervous at first but the hygienists and dentists here have always been so patient and supportive. They never pushed or forced anything my son wasn't ready for. They would always encourage and talk him through what they needed to do with him first. They also have TVs set up so the kids can watch whatever they want on Netflix or Disney+ which helps a lot. Overall, very happy with the services here.
I was deceived by the staff regarding the fees. Prior to scheduling the appointment for my daughter cleaning services, I double check with the receptionist about the fees and was informed that the cleaning session would be "up to $250". However, after the session, I was charged $360. Although the receptionist acknowledged that she originally informed me that the fees would be "up to $250", she indicated that my daughter's teeth had more stain than they expected, hence the additional fees. When the receptionist said "up to $250", the words "up to" meant the "maximum" is $250. If it was determined during examination that additional fees were required, the staff should have informed me and obtained my consent to proceed with the services but I was not aware of the additional fees until I received the bill. My daughter's previous dental visit was just 6 months ago so I had a difficult time trying to understand the staff's comment about the excessive stain on her teeth. Overall, this experience was very upsetting. I did not expect that a professional office would deceive their clients.
