My first class I wasn’t informed of a no-re-entry rule, and the instructor only covered the basic reformer equipment. My second class I stepped out to use the washroom, I was stopped from returning due to “safety reasons.” If that’s a policy, it really should be well communicated ahead of time. As a new client, it felt unnecessary and confusing, and I wanted to bring it to someone’s attention because asking someone to leave a class for a rule they were never told about feels unprofessional. I didn’t return after that and ended up losing money on my class credits, which was really disappointing
I’ve been there for 2 times already. Both times to hot HIIT Pilates and both times it was rather intensive ?(which I liked). And wet cold towels at the end is just what needed? Things to improve: maybe distance between mats should be a bit bigger (at least when the room is not full). And it’s already the second studio which offers mat towel to rent and don’t provide them for free, so I bought mine , but ofc its more convenient when all included :)
Solis is the definition of a good burn and good energy. Courtney always brings the best playlists and somehow makes every class feel personalized. The reformer room feels bright and elevated. You can tell Solis really cares about their members
I started doing Pilates here a few months ago and can’t believe the difference. My posture, strength, and energy are all better — plus the playlists are ?. It’s challenging but in the best way.
Have a really bad experience today going to Solis, the front desk is rude and too be honest, I feel it’s unprofessional and the made works at the front doesn’t know what she is doing. Wouldn’t go back again and if the management sees this review, I hope you can reach out to me so I can tell you the full story what happened on July 17. Bad experience, prefer to go to other Pilates store in Kingwest with my friends, so many better options around.
We recently booked private class at Solis Downtown location for a birthday, and overall, the planning experience went very smoothly. Monica, who helped us with the booking, was incredibly kind and accommodating. I had never organized a private class before, and she made the process so easy and efficient. I shared that I preferred a peppy, bubbly instructor since many of my guests were new to reformer pilates, and I also requested old-school R&B or EDM music to match the celebratory mood. We intentionally chose the downtown location because it’s beautiful and felt like the perfect fit for the occasion. Our class landed on a holiday, which caused some traffic delays. I called ahead to let them know we’d be 15 minutes late so we would start at 2:45 instead of 2:30, and the team was very understanding. Monica had told me we could begin the class whenever we were ready after 2pm, which made things stress-free. Upon arrival, the front desk staff were very friendly and welcoming; we mingled and began class at the newly agreed on time at 2:45, based on unplanned traffic. However, the overall experience with Solis was tainted by Brandie as our instructor. While we know she was a strong instructor, some of the girls in my group are regulars at Solis, this class felt very off. From the moment she came in, her energy felt annoyed and cold toward the group. It was unexpected and disappointing, especially given it was a birthday celebration. Despite being told the class after us was canceled and that we were no problem to start at 2:45, the experience from the start of class felt so rushed. The instructor came in and immediately started with “since we started late we will end at 3:30”. We were perfectly fine with this, as this event was for experience not for the logistics of the full 50 minute class. When one of my guests mentioned they had a prior back injury, Brandie stared blankly and walked away without offering any help or modification. The music was not what I had originally suggested which was no problem but why ask in the first place? No guidance or support was given to those who were struggling, and she didn’t adjust the class for the beginners in the group. It felt like we were an inconvenience - there was no motivation, no positive affirmations, no reassurances given throughout the class. When class finished, she quickly left. We felt nothing was tailored or personalized for this private event from the instructor to lead the vibe of our class. For private event bookings, we were hoping for an instructor who is personable, attentive, and able to adapt the class for all levels. Unfortunately, the experience with this instructor left a negative impression on what started off as a great event. While all of us plan to return to Solis, we won’t be booking with this instructor again. We hope this is taken as constructive feedback, we really do appreciate the effort from the rest of the Solis team and want to make sure future private bookings feel just as special as they should.
My home away from home ? Solis is so special & the community really makes this space! - front desk is extremely friendly & often makes my day - classes are an amazing push, both reformers and the mat classes are amazing (faves are Courtney/Brianna for hot Pilates, Kay/Kayla for yoga, & Camille/Shira for reformer - would love to see Camille more on the schedule!) - It is hands-down the most stunning studio in Toronto & puts you in the best mood to workout in a cute set (cold essential oil towels after any hot class are a bonus) I’ve taken my friends, mom, & fiancé & every single person has loved it & received support/corrections when needed. Thank-you for creating such an amazing experience in the King-West area
