Visited Chromatic Pottery tonight with my girlfriend. Had a wonderful experience, and really felt like, and were treated like family. If you’re looking for a very authentic pottery date night experience, I would highly recommend. Thank you Mozhgan for teaching us and the great conversations. Looking forward to coming back soon! -Brayden & Sarah
Wonderful pottery experience! When we arrived it was just us so the workshop felt personal. Mozhgan was very patient with me and my partner she took the time to describe and show techniques multiple times. During the little lunch break Mark offered us some 5/5 curry he was making ( which was very kind ) and Mozhgan made tea and the conversation was delightful. We were able to choose the music during the session which was nice and at the end I felt confident in my pottery abilities. We coordinated over email and everything went as planned. Very kind generous people with a quaint little workshop full of plants which added to the VERY GOOD VIBES!
Mozh & Mark made us feel so welcome! Mozh was a great teacher, teaching us beginners how to use the wheel and make unique pieces of pottery. We enjoyed the couple's night workshop and got to experience it with other like minded couples. I would also note that their space is so beautiful and unique, I enjoyed all the details that went into designing their studio. Mozh kindly finished and glazed our pieces so they're ready to use. It took a few weeks but we finally picked up our glazed finished pottery pieces and we're very happy with the outcome of our workshop! Thank you again for your warm and hospitable atmosphere!
This has been a disappointing experience. The shop owner informed us that the pieces we made would be ready in three weeks (these were created in mid-December 2024), yet they were only available today. Over the past two months, we made multiple phone calls to follow up. Honestly, we are unsure if we would have received the pieces at all if we hadn't called yesterday. Additionally, the pricing for this single class is highly unreasonable and excessively overpriced. We are thoroughly dissatisfied with the service and will not be returning.
I recently attended pottery classes, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. The instructors were knowledgeable, patient, and incredibly supportive, making the classes suitable for both beginners and those with some experience. The studio had a welcoming atmosphere with all the tools and materials provided. I loved how the classes encouraged creativity while teaching essential techniques, from hand-building to wheel-throwing. The sessions were both relaxing and engaging, and it was amazing to see my skills improve over time. By the end of the course, I had created pieces I was proud of, and the entire process was therapeutic and rewarding. I highly recommend these classes to anyone looking for a fun and creative outlet!
I’ve been a member at this studio since the summer and I’ve never been so happy to work here on my pottery. The owners are so friendly they even share their homemade treats and cookies and tea with us at times! The other members are lovely and provide very helpful tips with pottery too. It is a warm atmosphere - the twinkly lights and plants are the most beautiful! They host monthly membership get togethers so everyone gets a chance to meet each other. All in all, I feel comfortable here, the people are welcoming and wonderful, my pieces have come out beautifully, and it’s a great place to try/work on pottery.
I attended this pottery studio as part of one of my friends birthday gathering. I was excited and looking forward to trying out something new. The initial booking was for two hours plus cleaning. We were quoted $65 per person. While we were booking the session we were provided with very minimal information. We were notified that there would be an initial $150 booking fee. There were no specifics told to us regarding what type of session it would be, just that there would be some instructions. When my friend made attempts to contact the studio so that she could obtain some further Information, the management was extremely unresponsive and provided very little information. Despite this, we continued with our booking and sorted out details so that we could attend the studio for the birthday. My actual experience on the day of the booking was extremely disheartening and unsatisfactory. Due to traffic on the DVP, I attended the session an hour late. Once I was there, I was provided with very little instructions or guidance on how to do pottery. One of the instructors walked over to me and tried to guide me for a total of 10 minutes on how to make a cup. In the end, she just made it herself and walked away. It was also extremely complicated to locate where the studio was, and there were no specific instructions given to us on how to find the studio. One of the owners of the studio was standoffish throughout the session. He was sarcastic when we asked him questions and attempted to make jokes that were honestly not funny at all. I can’t help it feel that it had something to do with The group or woman of colour who had never before done pottery. We’re looking down at us because we did not know pottery. The owner’s words he held very “weird energy” towards us. At the end of our session, the owner rushed us out. He had Initially told us that there would be additional time to clean on top of our booking time however, at the end, he was rushing us out and not giving us the time to properly get our stuff together. Following the session, I learned that the owners are now refusing to give us the deposit back. They are noting that it is a booking fee, even though the language that was used when we were making this booking was that it was a deposit. We have attempted to call the owners And they have ignored us. We were only able to get through because we called from unknown number. And when we made an attempts to speak with them on the phone, the owners hung up on us twice. And when we made a attempts to speak with them on the phone, the owners hung up on us twice. They are evidently trying to take advantage of a group of girls who are unfamiliar with pottery and who trusted the word of mouth of these owners. This is extremely unprofessional for a small business and is not the high standard customer service that should be provided to those. We’re looking to learn how to do pottery. It has been a disheartening experience and I’m not sure that any of us will return. I would urge this business to operate with much greater due diligence to their customers If they are truly looking to build a community as they’re saying. I would not recommend the studio. The staff/owners are disorganized, unprofessional And lack basic decency. Save yourself the hassle and go to the many other established Toronto pottery Studios that operate with ethics and professionalism.
