GO TO CROCK A DOODLE INSTEAD (723 Gerrard St East). My family has gone to The Clay Room for more than ten years. I’ve completed many pieces there, including a yearly handprint ornament for my daughter. This time, after choosing our pieces and following their six-colour guideline for children, I was confronted by a clerk who told me my ten-year-old “only needs four colours” and that “it’s four when we’re busy.” The tone was hostile, and the reasoning made no sense. Customers pay for the piece, the studio time, and the firing. Colour limits serve no purpose beyond making it easier for the establishment to handle customers. The same employee who was rude and hostile later called to say she hadn’t realized we had more than one piece and that we could use six colours after all. By then, the experience was already compromised, so we did not return. Crock A Doodle was a direct contrast. Seven minutes away from The Clay Room. Transit-friendly. Every table stocked with the full set of thirty colours. The price of the item covers everything: paint, time, and firing. It was straightforward and worth it.
The owner was so lovely! I went with a friend for a cute activity and she made sure to walk us through all the steps. The atmosphere was great and sooooo cozy? I’ll definitely be back with more people in the future.
I had a really fun time here. There were many colours to pick from and they were unlimited. There was also endless pottery to choose from. In addition, the girls at the front were so kind and let us know everything we needed to know. Firing and glazing took a week and was very straight forward.
Hosted a teen's bday party at The Clay Room recently - we highly recomment. The party invitees enjoyed being able to choose their own items to paint and the private room in the basement was perfect for our group! Can't wait to pick up our finished products!
The experience of being here was very underwhelming. The prices are not worth the experience and service provided at this place, everything is so dull and the staff have an attitude. We had to ask for tools and paint over and over again and that was annoying. Though I have many complaints, my mug that I painted turned out very well so I will give them kudos for that.
Sad to see how you try to take importance of the opinions instead of analyze them and taking care. What you think, that I am just a bad guy that tries to attack you just for fun? I am not a database Customer, but I was a Customer. Moving to 2 stars
Deceptive prices with studio fees. My $17 item actually was more like $30 after studio fees. Some small items were under $10 and the studio fees for them would make them $20. Only reason this got 2 stars instead of 1 is because the staff was nice and it was pretty fun.
