Good selection of clothes but wouldn’t let me use the bathroom at 7.5 months pregnant which I thought was rather appalling! A shame they couldn’t accommodate, as the store had some lovely things and have shopped there for many years.
This place is pretty good - reasonably priced compared to the other chain thrift stores, relatively organized but often pretty busy. It’s a pretty small store but I usually find one or two things when I go. Like most places, you’ve gotta stay on your toes.. noticed this empty bag of rice (I buy this exact brand of rice at no frills, this is just the packaging) priced at $2
I live in the area and have been popping in here for years but recently the store has been overrun by a couple of resellers that literally will be here every time you step in. I typically wouldn’t mind but they all wait around by the sorting back room and aggressively swarm any new rack or new jewelry items that come out. It’s a shame because the management clearly knows them well but doesn’t seem to care about it ruining the experience of the regular shoppers. It’s gone way downhill sadly
This place has really turned into a price gouging machine and not a place that honors it's mandate of helping those who struggle to afford new product. My son and I dropped in yesterday and I wS shocked to see a beat up, scratched up and heavily used skateboard, with no wheels on it, for $66. We found a used dollar store computer mouse for $6 (more than the dollar store charges for a new one). Then their's the shoes. It used to be you could find a decent, but slightly worn pair for $10, with slighter newer running shoes selling for $20 to $35. Now, they have scuffed up old runners set at $30 to $35 for their lowest price and anything they think can be passed off as a brand is locked in a cabinet and selling for close to $100. On top of all this, the selection has gotten much worse, as it seems (from other comments) resellers are being encouged to raid the place for the few lower priced and quality items that may have turned up. What little is left can't even be tried on properly, since the change rooms have been taken away and the return pol8cy is a limited credit on inflated prices. Our family won't be back until an audit is done on the scam pricing that now seems aimed at making big money off the people who can afford it least. It's cheaper to shop elsewhere and the quality is often better.
The store is a bit rough looking but the clothing is clean and in good condition. Staff are friendly and prices are great. I keep finding nice things, seems like they get new inventory all the time.
It's always great to donate to stores. It's a whole different practice when the employees here change language often, when they get any electronic my friend speaks their language (Filipinos) : They look up all electronics on Ebay, and charge similar online prices! It's priced like a used electronic store, and instead of good deeds, they are actually trying to run it like a profitable business? We were shocked. Please choose a different Salvation Army to donate to, and call out all the employees here. They are all doing it.
Fabulous Location! I have given and Found some really get treasures over the 27 years I've been going there. This past Friday I popped in after getting supplies for my pets at the Wychwood pet hospital a few doors down. Picked up a beautiful set of 100% cotton RALPH LAUREN sheets! Plus a vintage 100% Virgin Wool Christmas Red Blanket. Wish now as I have my morning tea and it's a Chilly Damp Sunday morning in October that I'd bought 1 of the 2 BEAUTIFUL while maxi dressing gowns. One was pearl white satin with a luxurious faux sheep cotton lining. The second one was white cotton Plush Tarry fabric again floor length. But on Friday I thought White might be difficult to keep clean and passed on them. I'm pretty sure they came from the same donation. Because this was exactly the same size and TOP QUALITY clothing this woman clearly bought. Wore a season and donated. All freshly cleaned and in impeccable condition. That is something you'll learn. That especially at Salvation Army stores that unpack whatever comes in and it goes out onto the floor immediately. So if those Dressing Gowns had been brought in together they with everything else that she donated goes out together. These RALPH LAUREN sheets were probably from the same person who donated the Robes! I wish I hadn't been so tired because I'm sure I could have found more of that particular donation. Like I did a few months ago. I bought 3 pairs of top quality jeans 2 black 1 blue. I can't ever walk into a Shop that sells Nothing but jeans and find 1 pair much less 3 that fit my body PERFECTLY! Plus a black bra that must have been her's too. Anyway go with an open mind and some time. Because you never know what you'll find! Lovely helpful staff some are volunteers, so please remember to always be kind. This may be their first time! Do miss the once a month Friday night auctions though. Bought a Rumba on Christmas for myself for $100. So I Highly recommend checking it out this Salvation Army thrift store. Remember the proceeds go back into your Toronto community. Plus all these treasures are finding New Homes and not getting dumped into the landfill sites! Happy treasure hunting! Enjoy your time cause you'll never know what you will find! ♡☆ KEH
