I find the eco market a beautiful space for friends and creatives. The staff are truly lovely and embody the spirit of community service. The market featured racks of gently used clothing, a small pastry case showcasing French-style, fresh goodies, a shared art studio and beautiful artworks and murals from the same artist. The staff told me the proceeds go to neighborhood programs like providing hot meals. I highly recommend checking out the market!
Lovely ladies work here who are friendly and helpful. Poke around and find great items. Everything from modern kitchen wear to vintage books. It small and packed but they try and keep it neat. Prices are all over the place.
This is God's waiting room - while I was there, a cube van pulled up with a plethora of bags from a deceased Torontonian. The merchandise is carefully sorted and ticketed for pleasant shopping. Even the jewellery counter groans with unusual offerings. Leon runs a tight ship: the clothing racks are colour blocked and size graduated where applicable. Parking can be sticky, but I have had luck on the North side of The Danforth. The St. John's Bakery on Broadview Avenue is always a big part of their community outreach. An asset to East York!
Googles info about this place is slightly off. It's 1 floor. They don't sell furnature and their hours are until 6:30 until further notice. It's also kinda a hidden jem. Buy things there much more cheap than value village which is just a block away :)
This place was a gem! As a fashion blogger I love to visit thrift stores all over the world, but I was so shocked at the prices at Value Village (some of the clothes were priced at $20). I did some research to find some other thrift stores in Toronto and I cam across St Johns. The prices are great, the staff are delightful and theres a really good range of stock (especially for a small little shop). Would definitely return!
I am new to the thrifting world and I really struck gold when I came to St. John's Thrift on the Danforth. I was actually on my way to Value Village to find deals but decided to drop by first to see what was in store. I found amazing deals ... and it got better - they had 50% of EVERYTHING! I left so happy and proud of my finds; I didn't bother with Value Village. It's a small shop but the staff is so great and friendly. I'll be back again!
I don’t go to Value Village anymore, because of this gem of a place! Friendly staff and service, great prices (especially during the 50% events!), I cannot recommend St Johns enough! I will find more interesting items there than the VV next door, when spending the same amount of time at each. Plus, there’s no tax.
