I was genuinely so excited to find a used bookstore that had a book I’d been looking for. Unfortunately, my experience as soon as I walked in was really disappointing. The person at the register was rude to me and my friend and offered no help in finding the book, they seem inconvenienced that we walked in. As an avid reader, it’s a shame, they lost my business before it even began.
Great experience there, used books though definitely on the pricier side of used book stores in downtown Toronto, I paid 20$ for two books. On the other hand the shop seems to be very well curated the selection was amazing when I went. Very tidy, not too crowded, I think it was worth the extra cost.
Small bookstore with a fantastic collection of modern and classical literature. Has lesser known books of many authors, which are a treat to find. Each book I've bought is about $10. Customer service isn't spectacular, but books are awesome. Would easily come here over BMV for literary fiction.
The owner was super chill and minded his own business lol. The place is cute and books are organised well, mostly 5-10$ each. Got a good collection of Lit, Sci, Fantasy, Poetry, and Politics! They also have AMAZING record collection, must visit.
Great selection, terrible customer service, the front counter person was generally rude and was not willing to answer questions about selection/prices. I’ve been there a few times and they have the same vibe. There’s another counter person who is more helpful I would say try to go at different times or with different staff.
Walked in recently, no one else in the store. No greeting or acknowledgment. Asked if they had any home decor books. Got a flat, almost upset ‘No’, then walked out, noticing there was one in the window… not going back with that kind of customer service.
Skip it if you're selling books or driving. Tough to find parking, paid for it, lugged a box of used books blocks to the store only to find it shut with a 'Back Soon' sign in the middle of the afternoon. 30 mins later I got $10 for 7 decent books - deduct the parking and that's $7.25.
