The most awful experience I have ever had in every way. I ended up throwing out the very expensive wig plus all the money they charged me trying to fix it out into garbage. Very disappointed. If you want a good wig with less than half the price go to Princess Margaret hospital wig store on the third floor and have a look before you get one. They have real hair wigs too. I bought several wigs from them and I am very happy.
I am now the proud owner of a beautiful human hair topper that I purchased from Gabi's Wigs this month, July/25. I had noticed my hair gradually thinning over the past 10yrs. 2 yrs ago, Gabi's Wigs was recommended very highly to me. Finally, after I did an incredible amount of research on wigs & toppers, I took the plunge & made an appn't for a consultation with Gabi's. I was very nervous & anxious about whether I would be a good candidate & be able to find a solution that worked for me & my hair. Well, let me tell you, it was an absolute joy to meet Judith, who allayed all my fears & spent all the time I needed to try on both wigs & toppers. I was terrified of ending up looking as if I was "wearing a rug", so I was reluctant to believe there was the right wig or topper for me. Judith was brilliant; she "got me". Her vast knowledge allowed her to answer every question I had, explain every feature available for me to consider & finally, to find a beautiful topper that matched my hair colour, in a length that worked for me, with a cap that proved easy for me for me to put on all by myself without any fuss. I ordered my topper & returned for another appn't with Judith, who cut & styled my topper, so that it suited me. She thinned it out to my liking. I actually left Gabi's wigs wearing it on a very hot & humid day under my straw hat. I can't say enough about how encouraged & supported I felt from Judith. She is not only incredibly knowledgeable about EVERY aspect on wigs & toppers - fit, styling, how to put it on & most of all, how to make it look NATURAL. I am so happy with my purchase & grateful for all the help I received from Judith. Yes, a human hair topper is indeed relatively expensive, but I understood why after learning how it is made. BTW, the most exciting thing to me, was that my human hair topper actually contains a few strands of grey throughout, so it blends in anonymously with my own 70 yr old hair. I am so pleased & I would like to encourage anyone who has been considering exploring if a wig or topper might be right for you to call Gabi's Wigs & do yourself a favour & make an appn't for a consultation. This is my first real wig but it definitely won’t be my last. They help to choose a style and colour that totally suits. Everyone was super friendly. My hair was in desperate need of a cut, it was way too long and damaged to fit under a wig. I loved that i was able to get it cut there too. i couldn’t be happier with my new hair! It doesn’t feel like i’m wearing a wig, it’s that comfortable. i might not be able to not tell everyone that i have it on, lol!
Bought a wig did not fit right cause it move after I put it on. Went back to the store twice to see if it could be exchange with no result. Bottom line wasted almost $3k for nothing.
Since I'm living in BC I tried to get some information about their price range before flying in. 11 days and 5 emails later , nothing. Short rude answers with no information. Emails are my communication medium, because I'm working out of the country and calling not possible. What I explained. Very shady behavior in my opinion Be careful Ladies
I had been looking online and doing research for wigs on and off for a year now or more. Nothing came out of it. Then, one of my friends told me about Gabi’s; she knew a friend who went there. So a week ago, I called and left a message. Mary called me back shortly and booked an appointment for me. I went yesterday, Wednesday October 13th for my 2pm appointment. It was easy to get to by bus even with construction going on. I arrived a little early; Mary greeted me and when I sat down she asked me about my hair issue. She brought out a topper and it fit me to a “T”. There was a transformation with the topper. I did not expect to just try one topper. Mary was good. I did not expect to buy the topper on the same day, however since the store hours were limited and I was only able to go as I was on vacation, I bought it. I felt confident enough about the product and service I got. Judy styled the topper and put it on me to further style it. I also asked for tips on how to care for it. It was overall a very good experience and quite painless. The price was much higher than usual wigs, however, the quality was very good as it was human hair and European made. I found out later that they have two locations - one in North York and the other in Mississauga; the other two locations are in New York and L.A. I would highly recommend anyone with hair issues to visit this boutique to try our the toppers and wigs. I don’t think you would be disappointed. Judy even went a bit beyond the closing time to assist me. Kudos to staff. Hopefully if I go again one day, I can meet the owner. Store was clean; staff were attentive and professional and helpful.
