Forgot the prices as the time we came was a big group. Despite the chaos (as we added on our order a few times), food was served promptly. Skewers was slightly on the dry end but seasoning was decent. My favourite was the tofu skewer! Seating was comfortable and decently spacious. Staff was extremely kind and friendly - we had some popsicles with us and to avoid them melting they were willing to let us put in their freezer temporarily (and reminded us to take them when we were leaving)!
We tried to order some BBQ skewers and the staff told us they would take around 40 mins. There were only 2 tables of customers there. Portions were pretty small and taste was mid.
There are three ways to cook braised food: dry mix, stir-fry and hot braised. I chose the hot braised food, which was amazing! There are meat dishes, ingredients and staple foods that you can mix and match yourself. I ordered duck neck, pig ears, white radish and instant noodles. The seasoning is not too much, the seasoning is just right, the braised food is very tasty, the duck neck is boneless, the pig ears are also very soft, and the white radish is super juicy! It's really delicious to use the baked naan to absorb the soup
Went here for a birthday party for my friend Felix and the food is incredible and super authentic! The wait staff are all Chinese-speaking and it was a great opportunity to try some incredible lamb, pork, chicken, and seafood dishes grilled. This was my first time trying a century old egg, my friend Boyu told me that this is a dish that separates men from boys in China - and I'm glad to find out that I'm now capable of being a Chinese man. Great experience, our group was very boisterous and obnoxious, and the wait staff were incredibly patient with us.
Checked out Zao Bar and Grill last Saturday night and it was surprisingly chill for a weekend. We booked a table for five and got seated without any fuss. First off, the beer prices caught my eye – only $11, which is pretty sweet. The food? Absolutely nailed it. We went to town on the beef and lamb skewers, plus a bunch of other meat and veggie dishes. The spices were spot on – they really know their flavors. Everything tasted amazing and made for a memorable meal.Service was top-notch, too. Friendly, fast, and made us feel right at home. I’m already planning my next visit back. If you’re in the mood for some killer skewers and a laid-back vibe, Zao’s the spot. Highly recommend!
This is my 2nd time here. I discovered it by walking in China town and so happy! Food is tasty consistently and you can ask them to make it Not spicy or Mild spicy️ .. fav spot !
The best Chinese style grill in Toronto. Not kidding. Clams and scallops are the best of the best ! Didn’t get pay for the comment! Truly from the bottom of my soul ! Wish you guys can run the restaurant until the end of the world!
