Been using Girum for almost 4 years; don't know what I'd do if they ever build a condo there. In general, talk to him when you drop off the car and be explicit about what you want cleaned. His pricing are basic buckets that he'll use to help price a cleaning job, but don't just assume something is going to get done because you picked a particular price level. In general: (1) If you want a quick turn-around, drop off early and tell him before you leave when you need the car by; he'll tell if he can do it, or if he already has rush jobs ahead of you and can't be done, that way you don't get disappointed. (2) each car is has different quirks, if it's your first time, walk him through all the areas you want him to pay special attention to. I did this the first two times, and now he knows where all dirt is hiding. (3) he can separately wash your floor mats, but it takes more time, so just give him a heads up if you want that extra level, otherwise he'll assume you're ok if they're just cleaned in place. (4) if your wipers have a special way to be raised to prevent paint scratching (like a BMW), just pre-raise your wipers; I spent an hour at the dealership leaning how to raise mine, so I wouldn't expect any car cleaner to know how to do it. (5) if you want to wait nearby, there's a mosmos coffee shop in the Staples next door, and Rooster coffee is just down the road on Adelaide. Just give him your number and he'll call you when the car is done.
Left the car there for nearly 3 hours and I guarantee you they didn’t spend more than 10 minutes on it. I showed him the inside and outside beforehand and he confirmed multiple times what he would deliver. The exterior wasn’t bad and I didn’t complain about that. Some obvious spots they clearly missed but I wasn’t picky. When I picked it up, it looked like they only vacuumed the floor mats, and a very poor job at that. When I showed him the dust all around to confirm the car hadn’t been touched, he kept telling me that I need to pay $300 for detailing. So “premium interior & exterior” means they spend 5 minutes on the inside. Don’t take his word for anything. We had an agreement on what he would deliver and he kept trying to get more money out of me when I showed up. I don’t mind paying more money but I do mind people wasting my time and lying to me. He set the expectation and he should honour that. The car was daily clean, just some dust which he agreed to wipe down but never did. Not sure what I paid for regarding the interior. He asked me to come back for a refund, only to show up for him to tell me he wouldn’t refund and I shouldn’t complain even though he saw the interior was clearly unacceptable (dash had dust on it). Save yourself the headache and go to a regular car wash because they don’t touch the inside and I wouldn’t trust them to detail my car.
Girum Car Wash is simply outstanding. I took my car in for a full detailing service in Downtown Toronto, and I was absolutely blown away by the results. My car looks, feels, and smells like it just rolled off the showroom floor—it is genuinely like brand new! The attention to detail on every surface—from the deep cleaning of the carpets and upholstery to the flawless shine on the exterior—was incredible. Girum clearly takes immense pride in his work and treats every vehicle with exceptional care. If you are looking for a professional, top-tier detailing service in the city, look no further than Girum Car Wash. Highly recommended!
I had a very disappointing experience at the car wash on Parliament yesterday. Despite their advertised $75 rate for an SUV’s basic interior and exterior wash, the attendant refused to honor that price without even inspecting my car. He insisted that the $75 service was only for ‘new’ cars and arbitrarily quoted me $250-$300, even though my car is in great condition and just needed a standard wash and vacuum. Another employee had previously assured me they could do the job quickly and efficiently, which is why I returned. Unfortunately, the service was unprofessional and a complete waste of my time. I won’t be returning and can’t recommend this place to others who value transparency and good customer service.
I had my car washed today and I was impressed with the quick and efficient service. The staff were friendly and my car was spotless. Thank you gentlemen
I went to Girum today. (Our CRV desperately needed a clean after a small move and simple neglect, and I wanted to try a business in the neighbourhood.) They took one look at my car and suggested I choose the "Exclusive Detail" package ($125 for cars, $150 for SUVs). I walked away wondering if I overpaid. When I came back at the agreed upon time, I was stunned at what a beautiful job they did: The floors and floor mats were clean, the seats had stains removed; and, of course, the exterior was sparkling. Very thorough. Thanks, Girum Car Wash! Now, I can see why people pay to have a car detailed! I can't remember when last our car looked this good. Highly recommend.
I would give stars if I could. The staff is super rude. I brought my car in to do the vip in and out and they refused to do it and told me they would only do the car detailing package which costs over $160. When I ask them why, they were super rude giving me one word answer saying pet hair. But there was literally no pet hair in my car. They saw me bring in a dog and my dog is a goldendoodle which hardly sheds. Do not waste your time going to this place.
