I’m incredibly grateful to the Scadding Court Community Centre for providing a free sewing program for beginners. Thanks to our wonderful instructor, Allison, I’ve learned so much about mending and sewing practical skills that I continue to use. SCCC generously supplied sewing machines and materials, creating an ideal learning environment. I am now expanding my mending practice and co-hosting workshops to share the knowledge I gained. My sincere thanks to all the organizers for offering such a meaningful and impactful program.
This community centre holds a lot of memories for me — I grew up here over 30 years ago, learned how to swim, played floor hockey, and had countless good times. Now, it feels special to give back and see a new generation enjoying the space. It’s also wonderful to see the local food businesses outside thriving. Places like this truly deserve support.
Dear Florence, This is one of the hardest notes I’ve ever written, because words can’t capture what you mean to us. Florence, you are not just my daughter’s teacher—you are our guiding light. If there were more educators like you, no child in this world would ever be left behind. Before coming to Steps to Learning, we tried so many places, and every “no” broke us a little more. When I first messaged you, I was anxious you might refuse us too—but instead, you simply said, “We’ll take it one day at a time.” That became our motto. You didn’t just teach her—you gave her self-regulation, confidence, and joy. You gave me strength on days I was falling apart. You spent your Fridays with us, sitting for hours, helping me strategize. You became my therapist, my sounding board, even when it wasn’t your job. I don’t know where we’d be without you, Florence. You are the reason we have hope. Thank you for being her anchor, and for being our blessing. With all my gratitude,

I had the pleasure to take the sewing workshop for beginners at Scadding Court in 2025. It was the most welcoming and fun experience. I truly enjoyed the professional yet easy to understand instructions of Alisson and the compnay of my fellow participants. I only wish i could keep on taking more sewing classes at the Scadding Court Community Centre and hone my sewing skills. Thank you Scadding Court!
If I understand this correct it is 5$ for an adult annual membership fee. Maybe it's just because I've never lived anywhere near Toronto but to use a pool for a year for 5$ just seems to good to be true!
I visit Grace every year for doing my taxes. She helps me through the process in a professional manner. She is patient and funny. I am very grateful for her perfect customer service. As a permanent resident, her advice makes my life better.
