I love this Community Centre. We went to the baby time in the Early On while I was in maternity leave and loved the space for babies and toddlers to play. The people who work there are super friendly. Perfect place for babies to interact, play with toys and listen to songs, we always enjoy the circle time! It is a great option that is open in Saturdays for family time. My daughter loved it and I would recommend!

The YECC Senior Community Center is a wonderful place that truly supports seniors in staying active, engaged, and connected. The center offers a wide variety of programs ranging from fitness classes and educational workshops to social activities and cultural events. There is always something happening, and the staff do a great job of making everyone feel welcome. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, and it’s clear that the community values the opportunities provided here. Many seniors enjoy coming not only for the programs but also for the chance to meet new people and build friendships. The center plays an important role in promoting healthy living and lifelong learning. While the schedule can be busy, the variety ensures that there is something for everyone. Overall, YECC is a great resource for seniors and a place that enriches lives through meaningful activities and supportive community spirit.

I recently completed the “Bridging the Gap: Pathways to Early Childhood Education Careers for Internationally Trained Professionals” program at Young Eglinton Community Centre, and it was an amazing experience! The program helped me understand the Canadian early childhood education system and how to apply my international skills effectively. The staff and instructors at the community centre were extremely kind, supportive, and always ready to help. Thanks to this program, I feel much more confident and prepared to continue my career in Canada. I’m very grateful for this opportunity and highly recommend it to others!

I am pleased to share my opinion about Yonge Eglinton Community Centre and Newcomer Support Services, in particular. The team is determined to providing support and services on a high level for people with different needs at the very beginning of their journey, called immigration. I had a great opportunity to attend the program — Bridging the Gap : Pathways to Early Childhood Education Careers for Internationally Trained Professionals in this community center. This training is amazing for international professionals who wants to start a career in Early Childhood Education in Canada. The program provided various knowledge about the Canadian childcare system, workplace expectations, and professional communication skills. The all members of the team of Newcomer Support Services were highly motivated and dedicated. They guided us every step of the way, from resume preparation, immunization and job search strategies to connecting us with potential employers and daycare’s owners. All knowledge and skills I’ve gained during the program helped me to get a placement and a job offer afterwards. I highly recommend this program to any newcomer with an educational background who have a goal and are ready to reach it. This program significantly changed my life and my mindset. Thanks a lot !

The Bridging The Gap: Pathways to Early Childhood Education Careers for Internationally Trained Professionals program at Eglinton-Young Community Centre was amazing! I am very grateful to the wonderful staff—Karen, Diana, Mariam, Chloe, and Lizeth—for being so supportive and helpful. I learned so much about working with children and feel much more confident in my skills. Highly recommend this program!

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Eglinton Learning Centre for their professionalism and care for students in Childcare Assistant program. Every day I feel the support of the teachers and their willingness to help and inspire. The centre provides a welcoming and respectful atmosphere that makes learning comfortable and effective. Thanks to my studies here, I have gained new knowledge, skills, and greater confidence in myself.

I arrived at 11:00 AM, aware that the EarlyON program had started at 10:00 AM, but still hoping to join. Upon arrival, I was met by a staff member named Amanda, whose behavior was shockingly rude and unprofessional. Despite the fact that my baby was visibly distressed and crying, she showed no empathy and turned us away in a harsh and disrespectful manner. Her tone and attitude were unnecessarily aggressive and offensive—completely inappropriate for someone working in a child- and family-focused environment. Shortly after, a gentleman came out and identified himself as the person in charge. He explained that the capacity was full and that letting us in could jeopardize their license, especially if other families waiting outside were denied entry. I appreciate that explanation and understand the importance of following regulations. However, the bigger issue here lies with the system: if this is a government-funded service meant to support families with toddlers and young children, then there should be adequate space and resources to meet community needs. That said, regardless of capacity limits, there is no justification for Amanda’s disrespectful behavior. Families should be treated with kindness and dignity, especially in early childhood settings. I strongly urge management and the overseeing authorities to address this issue and ensure staff are trained in respectful, compassionate communication.
