I cannot say enough about what a positive impact Onton has made on my son over the past few years. Onton has helped Levi discover a love of breakdance that has rewarded him with confidence, focus, technical strength and a creative outlet that comes with a strong sense of community. Onton has a special way of mentoring his students by connecting at their individual level and inspiring them to grow on their unique trajectory over time. Aside from his awesome talent and technical skill which is truly a joy to watch, his passion for the breakdance community and inspiring the next generation of dancers is truly commendable.
After three months of classes with coach Onton my satisfaction could not be higher. Every week coach Onton's years of experience and dedication shine through his teaching. I have progressed more in these 3 months with coach Onton than the 15 months I trained individually taking workshops and learning from community members. A big set back for breakers is injury, and so it was for me after a couple months of breaking. Coach Onton's specific strengthening and mobility drills have conditioned my body to where I feel very comfortable and free while breaking. This has made my time in the art much more fun and comfortable. Due to his experience and knowledge his vision for your breaking journey is far into the future and his training pays off like surprise dividends making it a very satisfying experience. Coach Onton is always on time or early and replies right away. I couldn't recommend him more and am looking forward to the future training with him.
Onton is a fantastic coach! He creates a positive, supportive environment while challenging my kid to learning new moves. He's encouraging, patient, and fun. My kid looks forward to every class! I highly recommend BreakTO.
Of all the teachers and coaches I've had, Onton's taken me the furthest! He's super supportive and matches your pace, but still makes sure that you're growing. I had a major knee injury before I first started with him, but he still found ways around it to help me stay active and train, even while I was physically unable to do certain fundamental movements. Not just that, but I've lost 30 pounds of fat and made amazing lifestyle changes thanks to his support; like weight training regularly, eating healthier, but most importantly (in my opinion!), learning the value of long-term consistency over immediate results. Even just by taking things little by little, I make progress before I even know it. Onton is a super compassionate, super inspiring coach, and I'd highly recommend not missing out on the opportunity to learn 1-on-1 with a Toronto b-boy legend like him!! What went from a casual curiosity, became weekly training within a dance genre and community that I've come to value deeply. If you want to learn more about breaking and not just the "what," but the "how," then Onton is definitely one of the most qualified and experienced people to talk to!
Not only is ONTON the CHAMP, the one Bboy to rule Canada, he also teaches really well. Onton takes his private lessons very serious, he monitors, take notes at the end of every session. He will use his extensive experience and competitive mindset to create custom lesson plans best suited for his students.
Are you interested in breakdancing? Or maybe have you ever dreamed of trying it? This is the perfect place to give it a try. TRUST me you should train here. This is how you get started on your journey. I'm not a dancer I have no real dance experience at all and I'm super inflexible due to my years of heavy weight training. Despite this it's been amazing! And I've seen improvements in flexibility (i will get the splits someday ?) I've been tired and exhausted and probably in one of the worst places energy and mentally wise I feel like I'm operating at less then 50% most days. However at least once a week I see Onton and we practice dance. I recommend taking his classes for the enjoyment alone. It's always a highlight to my week when I'm there it really feels like I'm building a skill. He's professional and has been breakdancing for years. (You can even see him compete on YouTube (OntonSNC). You'll learn more then just breakdancing though, there's a good amount of mobility work, and specific strengthening exercises that you just don't find off of a simple Google search. You have the benefit of an instructor with years of experience. So what are you waiting for go ahead and sign yourself up or a friend son or daughter. Onton is an outstanding instructor! He's 100/10 for sure. I look forward training more with him.
I've been taking online dance classes with Onton for almost 3 months now and I love it! He's super professional, always on time and is lenient on scheduling. I highly recommend him as a teacher because he's very talented and patient with me. I've never taken dance classes before so Onton has adjusted to my VERY slow learning speed and makes it fun and a no stress environment :) I highly recommend him to anyone looking to take hip hop classes!
