I’m new to the area and decide the check this place out! The barista was extremely welcoming and friendly and kindly explained the menu and different types of roasts they have. I went with an oat latte (they only have oat as the non dairy option) and it was delicious! I love they are a laptop free zone, which is rare to find in Toronto. Heads up they only take cash or transfer!
Fine wine experience, but for coffee. You will never look at coffee the same way again. You will never go back to Starbucks or Tim Hortons for the swill they call coffee.
About a year ago, I stopped by here for a coffee. I ordered my usual flat white with two sugars, and I got quite a scolding from (I assume) the owner for not giving the coffee a proper chance. Then we started talking about my friend, who competes in barista competitions. You told me that competitions don’t really matter and shared your own values with me, like family, owning your own café, and so on. You probably don’t remember me, but that conversation has stuck with me ever since and completely changed the way I look at life. Thank you for that! P.S. I don’t sweeten my coffee anymore.
How to describe a hidden gem and keep it hidden? Do not come here with plans to work remotely. Do not come here with the hope of getting a matcha latte. This is an espresso bar. Do come here if you LOVE coffee. You can tell from the owner (Shawn?) That he LOVES coffee. As a non-coffee drinker even I was almost intrigued enough after hearing him speak to give coffee yet another chance. There is a tea selection and if you plead nicely enough, you can even get a London Fog I appreciate everything about this place and would love to come hang again
Top 3 espresso bars in the city. A must stop if you're in the Stockyards area. Pick from a selection of coffee from all over the world. Every each of this cozy space was made with love. This is where I go for good conversations and through this shop I've met so many cool people who I now consider friends. Shaun has a true respect for the craft. Great stuff Big Bro ☕?
Out of town, was looking for a coffee shop to wait at. Wasn’t what I was expecting but pleasantly surprised. This place is a hidden gem with exceptional customer service. Had no idea what I wanted to order but the owner did a great job at explaining what the coffees taste like and it was absolutely delicious. I got a breakfast sandwich as well which was also very good. The vibes are very laid back and the owner was personable which I appreciated.
Such a pretty, quaint and cozy cafe in the stockyards district of Toronto. The coffee is amazing and the owner is the nicest ever. This is the reason I love supporting local businesses. Went there today when it was -20 outside and didn’t regret it. Tried the dark roast Zimbabwe and Guatemala beans. They have all kinds of beans though. It was my first time here and will definitely keep going back. Just one thing to keep in mind- they only accept debit or cash. They can customize your drink based on your preference which was a plus. Thanks stockyards grind for an amazing experience.
