They built us the backyard pool of our dreams! The design by Max was phenomenal, and easy to communicate with. The entire project was smooth and we were within the estimated budget. The pool with the sunken patio is now our favourite place outside in the backyard. Max helped us choose the right stones for the interlocking, and it all came out better than we had hoped! All our friends and neighbours love it and are always ready to party. It became our little haven in Toronto. Thank you for all your hard work, we highly recommend you to our friends!
DO NOT HIRE GTA LANDSCAPING (VLAD & DMITRY) WORST COMPANY EVER! I hired GTA Landscaping in June of 2024 to build a pool. Dimitry came to quote me and told me in a month I would be swimming. The process of getting a permit was a long process. They didn't even have a contract with the city to work. That delayed the process but he quickly came to take my deposit of course. I had to push the city and call and email to get the permit. They started digging in October 2024 and by December 2024 the frame was in. It was then too cold to put the liner. So fast forward to March 2025 as the weather starts getting better. I start calling and texting Dimitry and Vlad and all I got from Vlad was yes we will start once the weather is better. He kept on saying we are starting next week but no one showed up. The unprofessionalism and poor communication is something I have never experienced before. The excuses from food poising to my kid is sick even as low as my family member is sick I got them all. Between Vlad and Dimitry they would take turns ignoring my calls and text messages. The quality of work is terrible they didn't install the steps properly. They installed the stairs and didn't put a track for the liner. They didn't prep the pool for the liner. They said they would come back and never did. Vlad told me he ordered the liner on May 30 2025 and it would take 5-10 days. The date would have been June 13 2025. Once that day arrived Vlad just kept saying there was a delay with the liner. So now were are at 2 weeks and he keeps saying the same thing but now with less and less response to the point where I was just being ignored. Now we are approaching 5 weeks and no liner and no response except I will call and let you know and he never gives me an update. I have fired GTA and I have now hired a new company and I have found out the liner was never ordered by GTA they completely lied and were just stringing me along. Not even a response when I fired them they didn't even respond. So now I am paying more to have my pool completed. Dealing with GTA has been mentally and emotionally draining. It has given me so much anxiety this past year. They literally left me with a hole in my backyard. I have never dealt with people who just bluntly lie to you and ignore you as if you are nobody. PLEASE DON'T EVER HIRE GTA LANDSCAPING! They are crooks! STAY AWAY FROM GTA LANDSCAPING. No good will come out of hiring liars!
DO NOT HIRE GTA Landscaping (Vlad & Dmitry) We hired this company to raise the deep end of our inground pool and create a shallow transition. The result? A complete disaster—full of serious technical flaws, structural failures, property damage, and emotional stress. Major Construction Defects: • Return line buried: They filled the original pool return inlet with sand and concrete—without informing us—destroying the pool’s circulation system. • No bonding, dowels, or rebar: New concrete was poured without any reinforcement, bonding agents, or proper preparation—creating hollow, unsafe surfaces. • Unreinforced slope: The new sloped floor was built without internal steel support, putting it at risk of collapse. • No drainage or weep holes: They skipped critical drainage steps, increasing the risk of cracks, bulging, and long-term water damage. • Improper skim coat: A thin surface layer was applied without prepping, and it’s already cracking and peeling. • Sounds hollow throughout: Multiple areas are soft to the touch and echo when tapped—clear evidence of poor adhesion. Used Recycled Materials in Structural Areas • This is one of the most serious issues. According to multiple pool professionals, GTA Landscaping used recycled or leftover materials—including concrete and sand—in key structural areas of the pool floor and slope. • These materials are not rated for underwater or high-load applications, and should never be used in pool foundations. • As a result, the entire structure is compromised, and cannot be safely repaired.only torn out and redone. They Poured Concrete Over Rainwater: • It took 15 days to drain the pool. Then, after heavy rain, instead of waiting for it to dry completely, they poured sand and concrete into standing water, permanently weakening the structure. Property Damage: • Their equipment damaged our lawn and interlock paving, and they still haven’t repaired it. Unprofessional & Poor Communication: • They missed appointments, ignored phone calls, and gave endless excuses: food poisoning, injuries, weddings, even stolen tools. • I rearranged my work and family life multiple times just to wait for them—and they never showed up. • Dealing with them was mentally and emotionally exhausting. This isn’t just about appearances. The entire structure is unsafe, poorly built, and beyond repair. Professionals have told us it must be completely torn out and redone from scratch. Now we’re stuck with an unfinished, dangerous pool that’s affecting our health, peace of mind, and daily life. I feel sick every time I look at it. …. Stay far away from GTA Landscaping.

If you are looking for landscaping work, we would highly recommend ‘steering clear’ of this horrible company. We hired GTA Landscaping this spring to do our front yard and backyard hardscaping and deck and after years of renovating our home top to bottom, we can confidently say, hiring GTA was the biggest mistake we have made. The work started off strong, we had great conversations with the project manager and there was good progress made in the early weeks - this is where the goodness ended. As GTA received payments, their enthusiasm for our project decreased as did the quality (in fact, the crew started doing more damage - breaking windows, denting our garage siding, scratching our garage floor, etc.). We had to ensure someone was home at all times to catch their never ending mistakes (e.g., wrong colour stone installed, poor finishing, leaving our driveway gates drooping, etc.). We ended up firing them after they ‘completed’ paving our driveway and it was clear that we were on different pages on what a quality effort looked like. The moment the asphalt went down, we knew it was done improperly - it might have been this crew’s first time. There were horrible rake marks left after paving, the grading was completely off and there were seems from multiple paving instalments which were visible to the eye. To make matters worse, the improper grading caused our newly renovated basement to flood (which had never happened with our old driveway). When we raised it to GTA, they made empty promises to resolve and then ignored our attempts to contact them for weeks (yes, weeks). They had most of our money at this point, so why would they act? It’s clear that the owner has zero integrity. He is argumentative, interrupts constantly and is unwilling to fix the blatant mistakes of his unprofessional crew. His solution to our basement flooding problem? Patch it… unbelievable. The attitude of his crew is a testament to his leadership - they were cold/icy, difficult to communicate with and worked a full noon to 4pm work day (?). We were extremely kind, offering water, snacks, etc. every day they were on site and they thanked us by urinating behind our garage every day (thanks guys…). Bottom line, save yourself the pain and suffering on your next project and hire anyone else. We have had to hire multiple contractors since firing GTA to fix their work and all have said that GTA's work is far from standard and acceptable. We learned a tough lesson on this project and hope that this review will help someone else learn from our mistakes!
We have turned to Vlad and the guys at GTA twice in the past few years. We couldn't be happier with their professional and quality work. First, Vlad was vital to refining the design what we had envisioned to both our backyard patio and front driveway and porch. His crew worked extremely hard with great dedication. Just as important, they were pleasant and respectful. I have no hesitation recommending GTA.
