Could not be more disappointed with my experience dealing with Precision Landscaping. First reached out in Jan 2024 after some research on reputable landscaping companies, on site meeting took place in Feb 2024 and everything seemed fine to build an external gazebo. Deposit was made and the project manager disappeared, took about 5 months for them to sort out the situation and have been bouncing between different correspondence ever since. Very very rarely would my calls or messages be responded to, chasing for answers constantly. Was told my application has been filed, I had paid the City for the fees associated, signed paperworks they asked for, and now haven't had any status update, follow up for OVER A YEAR. I could name the individuals associated, also have digital trail for unanswered emails, texts, calls, contracts. Hard to believe this is a legitimate business and the positive reviews don't seem real at all after nearly 2 years of misleading and false hope to get things done.
Harry and his team were amazing to deal with. They did a lot of work for me and communicated well throughout the process. The quality of work was amazing. Strongly recommend them!
I have a lot of events at my place during summer so having a beautiful backyard is a must. Thank you to a good landscape company that made it look as it should. I love it.
Called this company because they were doing a driveway in my area. I setup a meeting with Olga for the following week. 20mins past the appointment time she was a no show so I decided to contact her asking if she forgot. No response. I had another appointment so I had to leave. Another 15 minutes passed, she then called me saying she’s at my house. I told her she was very late but I would be back in 15 minutes as I was in the bank around the corner. She refused to wait and left saying she’d have to reschedule for another time but never followed through.
My wife and I had very high expectations from this company based on the reviews we read on HomeStars. I met with Martein in June 2019 and although I knew exactly what I wanted in terms of the overall design, Martein's constant reference to 'details, details' along with their many 10/10 reviews made me feel comfortable that the work would be done to my satisfaction as I am a fairly picky homeowner. Although I had a plan prepared and a clear vision of what I wanted, I did expect that as professionals, Martein and his team would take some responsibility for the finer details of the project. Delays for the permit approval aside, once the work commenced, Martein was not easy to deal with. He did not appreciate questions of any sort and was extremely defensive. Although the deck and stone patio were completed without much issue, the pergola did suffer quite a bit as my belief is that this was toward the end of the project, and after numerous frustrations with Martein, I believe he wanted to wrap the project up as quickly as possible to move on. Pergola concrete piers - Although eventually corrected after much arguing, initially 16" diameter sonotubes were installed that would sit 6" above the stone patio. There would be four of these monstrosities at the base of the 8x8 posts installed. Luckily this was caught and questioned before the concrete was poured. When questioned, Martein replied with 'We are following the permit drawings'. When asked for a solution that would be more visibly pleasing, again I was told 'We are following the permit drawings. You approved the drawings and this is how we have to build it.' Understanding that the approved drawings must be followed and that I did review the drawings but did not catch this detail, would it not be up to a professional with experience to advise that this is not a satisfactory detail from the start? Who would want these to be exposed? Had I not raised this as a concern, the work would have been completed as is, and we would have ended up with four enormous concrete piers protruding from our patio. Pergola joists - Less than two months after the project was completed, the pergola joists which span over 14'-0" with no intermediate support have begun to twist and warp. When Martein was contacted, I received a reply indicating that ‘on more expensive pergolas’ perpendicular 2x2s are installed to provide rigidity. I was told that ‘our pergola is very high’ and that it would take two workers to complete the job at $1,700. Again, I was told that I approved the drawings. $1,700 to fix a freshly completed pergola that should have been built to address this future issue as best as possible, regardless of how cheap or expensive it is. We are now stuck trying to obtain a contractor who will rebuild the top half of the pergola when this should have been built correctly in the first place. Two contractors have told us that the 14' span requires an intermediate support to be added. I suppose I should have completed my own calculations and noticed this problem before I approved the drawings, and not assume that this is something Martein and his team at Precision should be aware of. Martein openly said that I was one of the worst clients he has had to deal with - I guess this company is unable to work with homeowners who know what they want. Much of their clientele is in Kleinberg and Vaughan, so I assume this was a low budget project in Brampton for them. Precision - It is not fair to put the onus on your client to determine all errors on the drawings with respect to smaller construction detailing, regardless of their experience. You are being paid to provide a service and quality work. If you are unable to complete the work satisfactorily based on the price, then the homeowner should be made aware of what will suffer and what corners will be cut. Our expectations of this company are far diminished and we would never recommend Precision nor return for any future work.
I am very impressed with Precision's work on my front lawn - definitely more pristine looking and cleaned up than how it was before. All my neighbors now comment on what a difference has been made. I would definitely contact them again for my backyard or some other work on the property.
Precision Landscaping gave me a reasonable quote for a sodding job in my backyard on short notice and at the height of the busy season. They did the job quickly, professionally and stuck to the estimate. Highly recommended!
