I bought a loaf of Multigrain, and day old baguette and some pastries. I have to say, the baguette and bread loaves are quite airy and don't have the density that I'm used to from European/ French bread. So with that said, it definitely doesn't hold up to using it the next day. It becomes so hard and barely usable. So quite disappointed in that regard when everyone in Toronto hails this pâtisserie as having the best baguette. Honestly, I've had better at Farm Boy with their Parisian bread baguette. However, the pastries are wonderful, even if they were a day old. Most and full of flavor. So yes, for pastries. I wouldn't recommend for bread unless it will be consumed the day of.

I bought several items on Friday and I was shocked by the poor quality: the Basque cake was dry and obviously not fresh, the palm cookies, both salty and sweet were stale, even the croissants were dry. I have been a client for several years and cannot believe how bad it has gone. I do not recommend this place anymore.
I have been coming to Rahier for years. Relaible, consistent, authentic, Everything made fresh- all the things…. Naturally, pastries aren’t a daily consumption so I only go periodically. What we do consume often is baguette. We live near blackbird and the local cheese shop carries Epi, so those are the ones we have often. Bought some pastries this weekend at Rahier and decided without hesitation to add a baguette- French bakery and all…..WRONG!!!!!! never again. To put it mildly- they were on par with the no name “baked in house” baguettes in the bakery at Food Basics or No Frills. The ones you bring to someone’s house and say “sorry, that’s all they had or all I could get”. I put this here for awareness- not negativity. Worst baguette I’ve had from an actual bakery…which makes me question things about the bakery. Epi, Blackbird, Cliffside, Mon K, La Bastille… all with a proper baguette… Rahier’s? Was just sad..really sad... Hope someone gets on the “new and improved” over there..cause this screams We serve pre-made. Honestly- are these ready made from frozen?
No longer the same quality. The bread, croissants, and brioche is dry and flavourless. Used to be rich and tasty, and worth the price. Now it’s less than average and not worth it. Very disappointed, not to mention the staff doesn’t even smile. Sad as I used to rave about it.
They have the best croissants, including their hazelnut variety, and I can’t get enough of their baguettes. We also bought one of their chocolate cakes for my birthday and it was divine!
I decided to go here because I couldn’t go downtown for dessert with covid. This is my second time in years and it’s a 30 min walk. The young girl was super duper nice, friendly and helpful! She gave me suggestions and her customer service skills were impeccable! I got the raspberry chocolate mousse cake. It was tasty and nicely decorated presentation. My eyesight is poor and sometimes I’m oblivious to signage even if it’s in front of me so I didn’t see their signs or arrows hiding around their products until after I paid and I realized that’s why people keep asking if they can pickup and going around.
