On November 19, 2025, I underwent major breast reconstruction surgery with Dr. Jalil. It was a long procedure—around eight hours—and I could not have asked for a better surgeon. Dr. Jalil’s expertise, precision, and attention to detail were clear from the very beginning. He explained the procedure thoroughly, helped me feel at ease, and made sure I understood every step of what would happen. The results speak for themselves: My reconstruction was beautifully and carefully done and I had no infection or complications; My recovery went safely. I also want to extend a heartfelt thank-you to Cierra, his assistant. She was incredibly kind, patient, and supportive—especially as I was dealing with anxiety because of my situation. Failed surgery. What was supposed to be a simple procedure and a barely visible scar turned into a 3 month ordeal, two surgeries and a life changing facial excision at least 5x what was planned and necessary. Ongoing discomfort and tension, less than perfect closure and damage to my appearance and self-esteem incalculable. I was not treated with honesty. Denying my right to participate in my own health care and determined to not deploy oral antibiotics at any cost, Somogyi concealed information and then looked me in the eye and directly lied to me about the healing of my wound. He also told me that I should not have visited an emergency doctor. In the end, when the full extent of the deformaty was realized, he said that antibiotics could have been used. Shockingly, Somogyi sits on surgical ethics committees. Somogyi refuses to answer simple and direct questions about the procedure and I was threatened against any further attempts to contact him. Without exaggeration, the worst and most damaging experience of my life for me and my family. Never was I aware that I was at risk of having skin nearly the size of a quarter being removed from my central cheek. The carelessness (in every sense of the word), the lies (to myself and the regulator), and the refusal to explain his actions are unforgivable. The event shattered my faith in the health care system. From the onset of our interaction, Somogyi displayed amusement and sarcasm about my misfortune. After the experience, the first words from my trusted doctor of 20 years - "OMG, who would do this to you?". Last words from Somogyi - "Why can't you just live with it.." More could have been done and it wasn't. Patient care is not the top priority. Lying to patients while choosing to remove and discard flesh, this scathing review is the least of what's deserved... I deeply regret proceeding with this doctor. Horrible experience and horrible result..
